You are not a wuss.

So, not the best night’s sleep but that was kinda as expected. Yesterday was a low achieving day but hopefully a few days working from home this week will give me some focus. The workshop yesterday was a disgrace. Registration at 9.30 to start at 10. There were fewer than 20, why half an hour? It then didn’t start until 10.20 for no reason and was finished by 11.40. It was scheduled to run to 12.30. There were 2 paid external facilitators who didn’t answer any questions so I’m unsure why there were 2 but it could have been done for a quarter of the cost. These costs are being met by topslicing grant aid to charities. It’s infuriating.
I went to the client via m&s where a combination of whoopsied items and sb vouchers meant an outlay of 3.45. £2.50 of that came back from my mum for an item I picked up for her. This covered dinner last night for both of us plus I’d guesstimate another 4 dinners, three lunches plus some fruit, etc plus 2 big bags of crinkle crisps from their latest range.
I then went to the bakery and spent 5.80 on various bits and pieces which earned me another £2.50 from my mum.
I had intended to also call at Asda and pickup bread and salad but couldn’t be bothered. I was annoyed as my sister was in my mum’s when I called and asked when my procedure was. I deliberately hadn’t told my mum and was there last night to buy me a few days when I wasn’t visiting so that any after effects would go unnoticed. Still, it is what it is.
No movement as yet on any eBay items. We got our replacement kitchen tiles from the proceeds which seems to have prompted dh to list. I need an item or two to go to keep him engaged.
On good news, I got an email yesterday advising of a £1 voucher win from my tv surveys. I haven’t been too diligent with these but have already got in and around £10 this year. I generally cash in around November for amazon vouchers and am hoping for £20.
Right, I’m gonna get motoring and see what I can get done this morning at the client. Today I am grateful for
The nhs
A win albeit a small one

So, all done and dusted and generally went well though I do sometimes wonder about hospital staff. They seemed to find it odd that my normal blood pressure reading was elevated. Really? Is everyone else in the world so brave that they are completely calm before a procedure? They then asked if I wanted sugar in my post operative tea and kinda countered when I asked for my bag which contained my sweetener. It was the same nurse throughout.
They did spring an unexpected bs reading on me but said it was fine which surprised me as I’d eaten a piece of cake and two pieces of fruit.
DH managed to drive home without mishap which given it was 11 miles of motorway and dual carriageway plus three roundabouts was good. He did have a bit of a rant about one road being busy but it was close to getting out of school time and therefore expected by anyone who drives regularly.
I did 3 hours at that client yesterday morning. There will be a show down next week with the manager. There was no point this week as I wouldn’t be there to enforce anything. I am working up a list of matters to tackle. On other news, I got a call from an adhoc client looking for the tiniest bit of work. I’ll take that. I’d do it for free there’s so little to it but they have funding to be used so instead I will charge a nominal fee. I actually cleared the first tranche last night.
I am going to work from home for the next few days. I am hoping to get admin stuff plus other client stuff cleared which will be good. I must however make a list and hopefully not lose it. I still haven’t found the one from 2 weeks ago.
Today I am grateful for

Here's to a speedy recovery.
I did an eye-roll on your behalf over your family's vagaries... eye surgery?! And how annoying that your sister spilled the beans in front of your Mum. At least it's all past now and your DH has been Ebaying, which could be productive. AND he managed the driving.
Good that you are continuing to attract new clients.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Glad that's done and dusted for you and that your OH managed the driving. Hope there's no scarring.
