    The builder sounds fab!

How frustrating about the GP, you'd think it would be much more cost effective having you off the meds and managing.

  • My builder is so good that he has talked himself out of work when I take daft notions e.g. an extension to a house that is already only partly in use. This was when I was employed!

Bit of a weekend when nothing much was done bar the diy shop visit and a replacement rail fitted in my wardrobe that allows me to hang my work suits up again. DD is here until tomorrow and the mercenary furry one has deserted me entirely. She’s a madam.

Mr wii advised of no losses or gains which I will happily take. We’re back on bs diet from Wednesday for at least 2 weeks to minimise the risks of scarring and infection. On Saturday I did some hand washing inc a jumper that is dry flat. I did this on a clothes rack over the bath that I knew was a bit knackered. Turns out to be so knackered that my jumper now has rust spots. I hate that rack and it’s going.

Nothing was done moneywise but I am up to cash out on an sb voucher though I’ll hold off until there’s a swago. I’m also within pennies of a pa payout. I did however get a work task done to where dd could tart it up. I just need to check today then email through.

I’m in that client today and think it’ll be a late one as I need a volunteer to get some stuff done and I’ll have to wait until he has finished his day job.
Tomorrow I am working elsewhere in the morning and making use of an afternoon tea voucher in the pm. This has to be used by the end of June and I don’t want its use to be post surgery.

I’m not sure what’s going on but I didn’t sleep well last night. Still, there’s a new day underway.

    Today I am grateful for
More inroads into clearing the kitchen for the work
    A repaired wardrobe
    Finding that 2 suits fit

Mr Google says to mix salt and lemon juice and apply it to rust stains, then leave in the sunlight and the stains should fade. I haven't tried it but it's worth a go. It would be a shame to lose your jumper.

  • Thanks cherry, the only question I have is what is this thing called sunlight?
Yesterday i got the volunteer thing done, the product off to today’s client which was good and a trip to sainsbugs to take advantage of a 25% off clothing combined with an extra points voucher. I also went with dd to see her granny so that’s done for me for a few days. She did try to claim that I hadn’t called for a few weeks! See earlier panic stricken posts. She is unbelievable.

I got an invoice from a supplier to the client that is more than double the quote. Looks like another fight to be had. When is it going to get easy?

On the plus side, we have managed to match our kitchen tiles and these have been purchased to replace the ones we will lose because of the damp work. Payment is from recent eBay sales with money that was in PayPal. DH had a £5 PayPal off combined with tcb has saved us £6. I’m happy with that. It also means that less of the kitchen has to be disrupted.

I am still tired but need to gee myself up and get going. I’d love to get some more work out of today. Today I am grateful for

Lovely that you have time away from 'that client' - eventually it will come to an end completely. :)

Sorry about the sunshine. I think we've had a lot of your share but it will be back.

You are very good at getting coupons for things! And making use of them. You must have saved a fortune over the years. :)

  • Coupons and loyalty points are my mse go tos. I’m also a big fan of cash back especially if I can click and collect. Did I ever mention that I love extreme couponing?
I’m very happy to report that the tiles are on their way. If they are here while the builder is on site, they will be done. Getting him back for the wee things is always a bit more of a problem.

Yesterday I cashed out the sb voucher, closed the swago and gained 50 points. I was also able to cash out just over £20 from pa. an email was sent disputing the invoice including the charge for an item I supplied! Really?

DD went back last night. I’m not sure that I will ever get used to the parasites returning to their own lives.

Yesterday’s session gained positive feedback from someone whose opinion I respect which is good. Things are moving positively for that client though there is a key meeting today that will involve me dressing corporately, wearing heels and even putting my face on!

    Today I am grateful for
    Kind words
DD’s safe if somewhat delayed travel
    Access to a healthy breakfast

  • Client meeting went incredibly well with a really good outcome. It hasn’t completely sunk in yet as I want it in writing before celebrating but it’s on its way. I was shattered after the meeting but one of the trustees dropped me a wee thank you email which was lovely.

I got a report for another client to where it needs to be for a meeting today. This is the client who made a mistake with my cheque so that will also get sorted today. I also identified an opportunity for a friend who has previously referred work to me so I’m happy about that.

By the end of this week, I hope to have caught up with my expenses and know exactly how things stand for us financially. I’m going to have some time at home next week so am hoping to get on top of business admin.

Yesterday I spent £9 on lunch which wasn’t great but I was with others who picked the venue. It was good to have a post meeting catch up.

Right, I really need to get moving. Today I am grateful for
A favourable outcome for a client
Being able to help two friends
    Time to read

    Fantastic news with client
    January spends - £587.58
  • Well here’s the thing, I heard yesterday that I won £25 on my premium bonds. This was month 2 of my being eligible for the draw. This is money set aside for my tax bill so this win is a kind off tax rebate :j

First client meeting of yesterday cancelled as they were unwell. Means my cheque will take a bit longer to get reissued. Also meant I had a full day at that client. On the plus side, it’s hours I will get paid for. On the downside, it was time spent uncovering more and more issues and general mess.

On money news, I paid off a stonking credit card bill in full yesterday. This includes my annual rates bill, car insurance plus Easter related spends. It was all covered but earned some club card points and kept the money in my account for an extra month which is all good.
I also heard from post office savings who still are holding my £100 cash lodgement that I attempted to open an account with. No sign of the refund but they have advised that it’s taking longer than expected to investigate my complaint. I’m not happy given that my complaint related to their poor service. Really?

I also heard back from the unsuccessful job application where their more detailed feedback contradicts the initial feedback. I had also asked for a copy of their complaints process that wasn’t provided. It was known in advance that this job was earmarked for someone but to be so inept is inexcusable. I am fed up being faced with either incompetence or laziness and don’t have the energy for the fights.

    Today I am grateful for
    A win
    Getting one task cleared
    A very sinful takeaway
