Great that your daughter is getting a 'known' car - how timely is that!
Re the manager... I have the impression (rightly or wrongly) that this person is more inept than deliberately obstructive, in which case I'd agree about holding your tongue a little longer and making use of them as a 'body' to get work done. It does sound as though a deliberate talk will be in order eventually, though, but you would have to pick your moment, plan in advance (which I think you would do anyway) and be brave. Is there another way to think of it apart from as a confrontation? Or can you find the one crucial thing that would help if they changed it? Certainly a difficult situation and I'm sure I wouldn't have lasted as long in your position.
Hope you have a productive day today! And that you can get some down time, it sounds as though you are owed it.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

OMG I have a functioning sink! How excited am I. It didn’t happen until around 6.30 last night but it’s there. I also have 4 new radiators. I started off needing one, this doubled and our builder saw a good deal on two other far more efficient ones so got them and got them installed while he had the heating engineer on site. I don’t know what the additional cost will be but it is what it is. In winter, this house is so difficult to heat so hopefully this will help.
Yesterday few inroads were made to the kitchen. We were tired but we loaded up the dishwasher, found some clothes, some bleach and some washing up liquid and put all to soak in the sink overnight. Before going to sleep I wrote out a list of stuff we will tackle today as it’s a bank holiday weekend here though I am helping to cover a shift tomorrow afternoon.
I also identified work stuff to be done so will hopefully get to that today. I’m so excited at the prospect of getting access to my cooker. I’m fantasising about having a meal of scrambled egg on top of toasted bacon and cheese soda!
Today I am grateful for

Yay for the sink! Fantastic to have the beginnings of your future kitchen, though it sounds as though you're going to have a lot of washing to do by hand, for now.
I bet you will be glad of the extra radiators: I had an 'extra' put in at Mum's old house because the plumber said it was on the circuit and we might find it useful. I didn't believe him as we had been very surprised to discover there was one in that location. It had been hidden behind a wardrobe for thirty years and not switched on so I was sure the replacement would be superfluous, but it's made a lovely snug corner out of a bend in the landing.
Anyway, here's to a good day for you (and a pat on the back for reducing tolerations and not losing it with the manager).I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Great news too that you have a sink, I can imagine how stressful it must have been without one! I hope the rest of the kitchen follows on quickly. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Yesterday I attacked some weeds in the garden after having done some grocery shopping. With the kitchen out of use, I hadn’t done a proper shop in about a month. Even so, I was shocked at the £72 price tag. £11 was pure indulgence. Two books that I wanted and a magazine that gave a free gift of two eyeliners that are worth a lot more than the cover price. That’s one for me and the other to start the stocking stash for dd.
I was then due into the client for a few hours that stretched to six as staff called in sick. I had to call into my mum on the way and agreed to sort out dinner for her on the way back. The extra hours needed created an issue but the chef at the client made up a dinner for her that I drove up and dropped in and she was more than happy.
I made it home around half ten and was dog tired and so to bed. So far today apart from breakfast, my only activity has been to talk to mr wii. It’s been two weeks and I’m happy to report that I am down a pound.
Today I am grateful for
