  • So, yesterday I wrote a post that I lost. I then ran out of time as I had my fasting bloods yesterday. I was annoyed as they refused to check my long term sugars though I now have an appointment for the Wednesday after Easter. This week I met a client for lunch yesterday where I ate carefully. Today I am working in Dublin and lunching with client and tomorrow I drive back to Dublin with dh for an overnight as we are both attending the same conference on Thursday. So there will be lots of meals out. I had intended to stop one med on Thursday but I will wait until the weekend as I think it best to do when I’m eating from home.
Re the client, I’m waiting to see the offer. The big difference would be that it would put me in control directly answerable only to the board. I know that the manager has been told this but there was no indication that he had taken this on board when I saw him yesterday.
On other news, the client I was working with yesterday afternoon has put me on a one day every two months retainer which adds to my guaranteed annual income. This is good news. The question is should I spend it getting administrative assistance as I’m so bad at that aspect. If I get a close family member, I don’t need employee insurance but doi want close family, other than dc, having that knowledge of my finances?

On other news, dh and I had a money talk. Having provided for my tax bill via premium bonds, I took all money bar £2k from my business account. Our emergency fund has been reinstated, my offset fund monthly contribution is increasing from £35 to £50 per month from next month, car insurance and rates bill will be paid in full over the next month and we are trying to decide between savings and mortgage ops with the balance. I may do one of the calculations on here to see what level of op would be needed to reduce the term by 6 months, etc.

Anyhow I need to get a wiggle on and make myself both presentable and corporate. Today I am grateful for
Being able to fit into a go to work outfit
New work with a lovely client
    Good news about a friend

It sounds as though you are making great progress, both health-wise and financially. What a nice feeling, being able to fit into a good outfit for work!

If the manager hasn't absorbed this piece of information at this point, is there a chance he might continue to act as though it wasn't the case, regardless of who you are answerable to? They must really want you - at least the board must - despite those staff who are a problem, and that must mean you are having a noticeable effect.
    Enjoy your meals out :)

  • Yesterday I went to my Dublin meeting and realised I was missing a paper when at the table. There was a lovely staff member beside me who bailed me out. Between this and thoughts of the meringue roulade I had consumed at lunchtime, things passed in a bit of a blur until I was leaving when the chair gave me a hug and said she was delighted to be working with me again. I fairly hop, skipped and jumped out of the place. I then visited two other clients just to keep my visibility with them and made it home around half seven. Today I have a meeting at 8.30, then one at 11 then home to pack for an overnight in Dublin with dh where we are both attending the same conference.
So, I need to get moving.

    Today I am grateful for
In range blood sugars despite yesterday’s dessert
A bargain find of items that dd uses reduced from £9 to 49p
Feedback in the form of a hug

How lovely! The hug I mean. :) Amazing how well that can work in a work context, though if it were made compulsory it would kill it and lead to lawsuits.

Meringue roulade...mmm! Too nice. And your body coped with it! :j

Have a good day, hope you get some down time amidst all that travel.
