  • Thanks everyone, good wishes are always appreciated. Yesterday I went to that client intending to leave after a few hours. Unfortunately the manager beat me to it. Before lunch he said he was taking off until Monday. Guess who subsequently had to tell the chair.
Still, I got one thing completely disposed off and gone forever. It was also welcomed by some of the staff involved which is always a plus point. In addition, I put arrangements in place to sort out another matter which will be dealt with today.
I forgot to call the gp for my blood test results but, having not had a call from them, am assuming they were as anticipated. They won’t be completely in order for another month or so as these are long term findings. Yesterday I had the final quarter of the tiny cake and it was during master chef as I struggle to not eat while watching the preparation of lovely food. This meant that sugar was ingested a lot later than it has been for weeks. My reading today however was well within range. This could imply that my body is starting to be better able to cope which is what this diet is supposed to do.

Today I am at the hospital for an initial consultation re getting a smallish cyst removed just cos it’s in an awkward place. I will probably return to the client afterwards so dh can travel home with me and we can save on travel costs.

Right, it’s year end for dh so we need to get in earlier. Today I am grateful for

  • so, went to the hospital appointment yesterday. spent more time finding car park space than in front of the consultant. if all he was going to do was read the referral, he could just have booked me straight into day procedure. given that the referral was approx 2 years' old, it's not like him seeing me was to hit any targets. he also completely lacked any interpersonal skills. still, there is progress.

called my gp for my BS results. was told there's a concern about kidney function so need a further test Monday after next. was also told there was a concern about my BS. this was without reading notes on my visit earlier this week or realising that although the long term reading is high, it has dropped 40 points since January and i'm on reducing meds and working through a process, albeit a long overdue one. I was told to get retested in a month. when i advised that i'd already been referred back in 6 weeks by the dr, i was told to go with that. i asked if this could be retested when i get the blood test for kidney function and was told probably not. it will take the same resource from the nurse bar printing out a further label. really? luckily it's the regular nurse who will probably do it for me when i'm there but it's just so frustrating and, in part, because the plan i'm following is not "NHS endorsed standard issue" although it is scientifically recognised.

    anyhow, here endeth that rant.

this morning the 4 legged fiend had us up at half six which meant i could get the 2 legged one from the airport at nine. she will be home until wednesday evening so my mother's day present from her is a trip to see Dumbo on Monday evening as she knows i hate weekend cinema trips.

this evening i have to go into the client for 2 hours as they are short staffed. the staff member who pressed the panic button over this is a trouble maker who complained about lack of staff then tried to backtrack when i said that i'd come in as he doesn't like any oversight.

right, need to crack on with the job application due in on Monday. fingers crossed for a good weekend.
    today i am grateful for
    safe travels
enough willpower not to dive into a VAT of chocolate when getting read the riot act about my BS levels

  • So, bs reading remains within normal and mr wii has advised of a 2lb reduction. That’s 15lbs in five weeks, normal sugar throughout bar the first few days and with one of my meds down to a quarter of what it was. The kidney concern is worrying but this programme has to help if there are actual issues so things are all to the good.

I have made little headway with the job application and I have client meetings tomorrow so need to get it substantially complete this evening. Today dh and I have a two hour dance class. I love to dance, he doesn’t but is ok about a class where it’s a bit of a giggle. We’ve done two of these classes before but this time I need to bring a wee orange with me just in case the exercise depletes my sugar levels.

Yesterday dd and I caught up with some tivoed programmes then I went to the client. I was there longer than expected but it was good craic. Today I am pondering attempting to make tablet as part of my mum’s gift that we will bring down this evening. I’m not sure that I have the willpower not to nibble and it is pure sugar, butter, condensed milk and a wee taste of white chocolate.

    Today I am grateful for
    Positive results
Making it beyond the half way point
    Good interaction at the client

You are doing a fantastic job with the blood sugar - it has to be helping, and I bet the weight loss feel nice :).
I don't think I could resist tablet if I had to take it to someone! I'd never had it before I moved up here, I'm not sure it exists where I originate, but it's very more-ish.
I hope the job application goes well.

  • I wimped out cherry. I decided that if I made tablet, I would end up eating it plus I would have had to go buy unsalted butter etc so just passed on it. As it was, she complained that I’d brought too much stuff but went quiet once dd asked which things she’d like us to take away. DD is so much better at managing her than I. Well, I did close to nothing on the application form due in by 4 today. I’m now trying to convince myself that I work better under pressure. Now I need to drive 25 miles for first meeting of the day. Just need to find something suitable to wear. It’s kinda fun exploring the slightly smaller possibilities though I have found one blouse, never worn before, that has turned out to be dry clean only!

Anyhow, gotta get a wiggle on. Today I am grateful that
I see this job as an option whereas 2 years ago,it may have been a must do

  • I'm glad Mother's Day was pleasant. I think you were wise to pass on making the tablet :).
