How uncivilised of the staff. I hope you are dried out and comfortable now, and here is a nice cuppa to warm you up: :coffee:.

Just caught up with your goings on!

Well done you with everything - BS, weight, etc, etc. - and also for resisting the overpriced Cher tickets. Prices for gigs these days seats are ridiculous - I rant about these as much as I do for West End theatre prices!

    Have a good weekend inod.

    Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
Finished Emergency Fund- £10,000 April 2017

    RETIRED: MAY 2021!!!!😀🎆
My diary: “Seasidegal's Scrimpy Retirement Diary!”
  • So, speaking of the cost of gig tickets, my two children, aka the parasites, have completely pulled a rabbit out of a hat and have presented me and dh with tickets to see stevie Wonder and Lionel Ritchie in Hyde park this July. DH has a hotel offer available and we can decide between cheap airlines and using air miles which brings us into Heathrow where we can use the tube to get into London. How amazing was that!

BS has remained good despite falling off the diet on fri and Saturday. Fri I overate albeit everything was low sugar, Saturday I was delivering a workshop and ate three pieces of home made shortbread. Tomorrow I have blood tests first thing. My conversation with mr wii said I was down a pound but the number didn’t change so no update to my sig. I am know within 0.15 on a bmi score of getting out of the obese classification. I know this is a discredited measure but it’s still my next thing to aim for.

Yesterday’s work was with the nightmare client. The outcome was they want to up my hourly rate and have me commit to a 6 month involvement. I was in two minds but got home to a letter saying I wasn’t shortlisted for the job I’d applied for. I will seek feedback. I also arrived home to a completely unexpected and lovely bouquet of flowers. One of our “adopted children,” dd’s friend, sent them as a belated birthday/anniversary gift. How lovely was that.

Last night was laptop free as I needed a break. Today I have three jobs and two invoices to get sorted. It has been a busy week and will get busier next week as I have two days in Dublin. I need to get cracking but, first things first, dh and I are going to have a money discussion. I have spent £10k on premium bonds which is provision for my tax bill. I have a balance in my business account left that would allow me to meet my mortgage and offset fund targets but our emergency fund remains somewhat depleted and rates and car insurance are due this month.

On mse news, I went to buy the £20 protein deal from the good but reasonably priced butcher and they had an offer that gave an extra 3 chicken breast fillets. So yesterday we got 8 of these, 2 sirloins, 2lb lean mince, 1lb frying steak and bacon which I thought was really good value and should cover us for close to the remaining 2 weeks of this 8 week programme. I am really fantasising about toast and mashed potato but not on the same plate.
I also stopped in at the frozen shop where their 7 day deal included the reduced fat mature cheddar loved by dh. 4 blocks bought as they are good until July. I was also able to get a reduced pack of wee oranges.

    Today I am grateful for
    Positive feedback
    Grocery bargains
    Unexpected gifts

That is a lovely present from your DC :T. Well done on resisting the Cher tickets and keeping your BS down :T.

The nightmare client offer is a tricky one, can your stress levels cope with another six months of them?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend :).

    Lovely gifts.

I agree with the others, is the extra pay worth another 6 months of it? Or will you have more energy to pursue other options if you aren't there.

Good luck with getting out of 'obese'. It's my target to get 'into' it rather than morbidly obese

Lovely pressie from the kids. Could you manage financially without that client? Perhaps it would free up space in terms of time and energy to allow you to move on and find more lucrative work? Even with the pay rise I think from what you previously said it would still be a low pay rate compared to what you would expect?
Glad to hear that your bs is still within the normal range.
