I was left fuming. My three o’clock meeting was pushed back to today. I was told at lunchtime. Today I need to be on site early as my former client is coming on site to help with an issue and they are doing it free of charge which is great. BS checked and these are still well within range. I’ve decided to see my gp on Monday when I’m down with the nurse getting bloods tested. If he again refuses to reduce meds, I’m just going to do it. You’d think he’d be happy to do this but go figure.

Yesterday I got 2 small pa surveys that I am just waiting on clearing and then I can cash out. That’ll be £20 for the mortgage. Fingers crossed that happens today.

    Today I am grateful for
Cinnamon without which I don’t think I could face my daily porridge.
Remembering my sister’s birthday and making it down in time to drop off a gift

  • So, met with the regulator for that client. They see no foundation in the complaints and believe that they are more whinges than anything else. This is beyond being a relief. There may still be something raised with the professional body but given that to date, I have been given no opportunity to defend myself and there has been no evidence produced, it’d be hard for the other party to argue that it’s a critical matter or breach of code of ethics.
Maybe now I can get on with stuff I need to do. That said, I slept poorly last night and now feel like I’m crawling through treacle.

Yesterday I managed to pick up a very suitable mother’s day card for£1 which was good. This sounds awful but because my mum fairly ignores cards, I resent spending money on them. The shop also had baskets for £1 that I’m thinking of buying for a mini hamper type thing. I checked last week and she is on her last jar of lime marmalade and fry’s chocolate creams are always acceptable. I could have picked these up yesterday but was afraid to hit the confectionary aisle on my own in case I gave into temptation.

Today I really need to crack on with stuff but am just tired.

I'm really pleased to hear that the regulator is on your side inod - must be a weight off your mind. The whingers also sound like they won't have much luck with your professional body too.

If your mum isn't worried about cards, I think a cheaper version is quite suitable. You sound like you will be making her a nice little hamper so I'm sure that will be appreciated more! My own mum loved getting a nice card - more so I think than a present! - so we always made sure we made an effort! But if people aren't that bothered I don't see the point in splashing out.

I hope you feel more energised as the day goes on.

  • So DH didn’t get the job. In fact he failed the interview and is a bit gutted but putting a brave face on it. The big plus is that, for dinner, we had exactly what was planned instead of drowning our sorrows in cream cake and a takeaway. I will admit that I am starting to fantasise about all manner of takeaways from a kfc fillet burger to Chinese food to a kebab on chips. I think how I got to this weight is kinda obvious. The promotion would have been nice as it would have been a good pay uplift but at present we are managing on what we have which is good. A cheque is expected for me today which is always nice. If it comes, I will walk to the post office to get it lodged.

Yesterday I was able to cash out pa with another £2 pending meaning that I’m not starting from scratch. I also hit the first sb target though I am fed up qualifying for a 2 min survey to be told it’ll take 15 mins. I am determined to have enough sb gathered up to cash in a voucher at next swago.

I have shed loads to get done this week including grocery shopping that I’m thinking of getting out of the way sooner rather than later. I’ve a tender that’s due in on wed plus the job application and I’ve two pieces of work to get over the line. I also need to do work for that client to respond to a subject access request.

That said, today is dry and bright and I’d love to get out to the mud patch if only to get rid of some moss from the paths and patio.

    Today I am grateful for

    Stabilising finances
Master chef, it gave me the excuse to drag dh from his man cave where he may have been beating himself up

Glad the complaint is proven to be a waste of time. Sorry for DH.

Have a good weekend. I admire your restraint on the eating plan, I seem to be failing miserably this weekend!

I'm sorry your DH didn't get the job, especially after all the work he put into it, but hopefully that just means he will be first to the post next time something like it comes up.
Things are sounding positive regarding your work situation - always good to hear, as is the continuing good news on your health. Well done for resisting the takeaway!
Don't let a busy week get on top of you: I hope you get some time for yourself. The fact you are getting days when youjust don't have the oomph to get going seems to indicate you need some 'me' time.

  • Thanks peeps. There was another blow for dh this morning. We had our weekly conversation with mr wii and he’s up 2 lbs. I don’t understand how as he’s more inclined to stick to recommended food only whereas I will drop something to eat some chilli nuts just to give me a flavour hit. We were supposed to be going to practice his driving this morning but I think I might let that go. He hates driving even more than I do but I’m fed up that it always falls to me especially if it’s to drive to something that I find stressful.
Today mr wii said that I have lost 1lb but my number reduced by 2 and I used that to update my signature. I’m now within approximately 2 or3 pounds of being out of the obese bmi category for the first time in so many years. Probably about 15. While this has been about sorting blood sugars, I’m now determined to get into that next band. How ironic is it to strive to be overweight! My bs was also within range but upon yesterday despite it being a later reading.

The cheque did not appear yesterday so there was no walk to the post office. I did however go shopping and spent ten fortunes. First port of call was m&s which I’d anticipated being costly but it included a variety of lunch materials to keep us interested that sit within the calorie limit. I also stocked up on the multi packs of 2l bottles of sparkling water that work out at less than half price of a 500ml bottle that dh would otherwise buy. They also had their low calorie chicken soup at 50p a can and there was an item for my mum. I then nipped next door to b&m where they had other stuff that will last a month but that I wasn’t expecting to buy. I did however pick up some of the items that will be part of the mother’s day present for next week.

Little to no work was done yesterday so it needs to happen today. Three items of clothing are however en route to the charity shop. Right, enough of my wittering, I need to get stuff underway. As a minimum garden wise, I am attempting to split a plant and put half in the empty flower pot on the other side of the front door. Provided I can get the garage door open, it should be no more than 5minutes.

    Today I am grateful for
Weight loss and reaching the half way point of this plan
Three numbers on last night’s lottery
Finding a cheaper source of the apples that are grated into my daily porridge.
