It sounds like you've had a really positive and productive weekend.

Well done on the weightloss and the blood sugars and reducing the meds.

Glad you've worked on something that means something to you, and good news about the eye test, if ouch about buying two pairs of glasses.

I'm pleased to hear that the toxic client is soon to be no more. I understand how you must feel about a charity that needs help but by the sound of it they will never progress with the current management/work force in situ. It will do your stress levels a world of good too.

Well done with the diet!:j you've done so well with this and it's great that you've had a fantastic weight loss too!

Good idea on the eye test. I find that staring at a screen for most of the day as had an adverse effect on mine so yearly tests are a must.

Sorry about the charity but some of the staff/board sound like as if they are their & the charity's own worst enemies.
As you say it is the service users you feel for.
But you have to think of yourself & I am glad that you are xx

  • So, a slight increase today but still well within range and that’s having reduced meds. Left that client early yesterday but went back in last night for an hour and a half after night shift came on. They are so easy to work with. They do what’s needed and do it well. I’ve committed Thursday morning to another client who I enjoy working with. I need to get some business development underway today even if it’s just reviewing tenders.

While I was in yesterday, I identified shifts worked by the toxic team and, as far as possible, I will be avoiding these. I also refused to get involved in a row between two trustees.

Today I need to find some more things to eat that aren’t eggs. Currently eggs are my go to but I try to restrict these to every other day.

Have you noticed night staff are infallibly the nicest and easiest to get on with? I think it's because they don't get involved in the day to day politics of work.

And what a nice DH you have :)

  • I'm sure the glasses will make life easier, even though you feel a bit poorer now. The blood sugar seems to be well controlled with the new diet, I expect a few ups and downs are normal.

I think you should should think about your own mental health and walk away from toxic client forever. You can't do any more than you already have done without further damage to yourself.

  • Thanks to all long suffering people who visit and comment. This diary is boring me so who knows why you lovely lot bother. It’s bs and job whinge.

However today my bloods showed as low but I think that may be a distorted reading as I don’t feel wobbly and the blood was slow to hit the testing strip.i didn’t want to retry as I need to bring the meter with me to my next appointment and averages, etc would be out.

Yesterday I went and picked up the glasses that are now residing comfortably in my bag. I’m working up to wearing them. I think possibly the worst thing about getting them, apart from the fact that my eyes are deteriorating, is the number of times I have to look in the mirror. I know I’m in my 50s and it shouldn’t be a surprise but the face that looks back is old and marked due to years of fairly bad rosacea. Clearly the whingefest continues!

    Today I am grateful for
Snuggle time with the dog last night
A willingness to help from a former client
Positive feedback yesterday on my weight loss

It's not a whingefest! Life has it's ups and downs, that's normal.

Your 'things you are grateful for' are always positive and nice to read :)
