I love custard! Custard tarts, those little Portuguese custard tartlets, rhubarb and custard, custard in trifle, etc. Some days I eat my porridge by fantasising it’s a bowl of custard.
Anyhow, the supplier got back to me yesterday and agreed to get things sorted. It hasn’t happened. This is not an optional extra and I’m not sure what I can do.
The form went in for my payment and a client has passed an invoice for processing. I got two of the five client things cleared yesterday which is good and another is underway.
Today I am going to a lovely client for an hour this morning and the nightmare this afternoon. I will also get rid of some charity shop stuff, call to the market to hopefully get some potato bread with bacon that I have been dreaming of and maybe some flowers as there is a local small business who sells through the market. I will also pick up dry cleaning including suits that dh needs to have altered.
Today will be meat free for me. One of the two days when I do any type of religious observance. Dinner tonight will be a cardboard box fish and some veggies though I am strongly considering some beans. This diet has taught me a lot about portion control which I hope I can sustain.
Today I am grateful for

So, around 8 last night, the supplier sorted the issue and dh did the final tweaking. I just need to send an email and arrange handover. Yay! One thing completely done.
Yesterday was a busy day with work at 2 different clients, dry cleaning collected and some of it and dh brought to the tailor for measuring and alterations. I also went to the market to get some bacon potato bread that will be breakfast one day over the next week. There will also be some for the freezer. I also indulged and purchased some flowers for me and some that I took to my mum’s yesterday. They are from a small local stall holder and she carries a quickly range that she sells per stem. Yesterday’s haul included eucalyptus, heather and various other funky things. They will look good in my hearth.
Yesterday, though I haven’t told dh, I ate a galaxy caramel egg. It’s about the size of a cream egg. Today my bs was within range although up slightly. I also took in and sorted the kitchen last night as I knew I needed to move more. I got away with it and am relieved. I am concerned about what mr wii might say tomorrow but I will deal with that then.
During the week, I went to the building society and increased my monthly savings to £50 from £35. It’s only a tenth of what my monthly amount was when employed but it’s more than double the minimum £20 I dropped it to when I prepared to stop work. If anyone reading this is contemplating ditching regular savings, please don’t. Drop to the minimum from which you can build up. I know that if I’d stopped, I probably wouldn’t have restarted but do increase cautiously when I can.
I also got my balance updated which shows in my sig. we have money from my business account awaiting a home but I’m holding it at present until we find out the cost of addressing the dampness in the kitchen and the other bits and pieces. Then the decision will be between savings of mortgage clearance and will probably be a bit of both with a small donation to the offspring.
I cashed out from pa yesterday so when that hits, it’ll be £20 to the mortgage. On Tuesday we are going to open a joint savings account that will be used to house treat money. So far we have £300 in cheques that will go towards our Hyde Park London weekend.
Right, today i need to get motoring to shops, dump, chazza, etc.
Today I am grateful for

Am super excited. According to the wii, 3 lbs off last week but number only dropped by two so that’s what my sig says. My bs remains in range but a bit higher than I’d like but again, it was a later reading which seems to give a higher result. In 8 weeks, I have lost 20 lbs, 160 mg of diabetes medication plus one other tablet. My food bill is high but my other spends have plummeted though I think clothing and alteration costs may start creeping in. I bought 2 items from a brand I would never have considered before as they didn’t do my size. I am starting to change my eating habits. Yesterday I was the person wandering around eating a packet of sliced meat rather than a bag of crisps or a bar of chocolate. I have 2 to 3 pieces of fruit every day and some veggies too but there’s more to do on that.
I think I’m sleeping better and have a bit more energy. I’m also not as sugar dependent as I thought. I made it through a nightmare work time without sugar. Like all on here, it appears I am stronger than I knew.
Today I am grateful, and relieved, for
My cheerleading team here. For me, being diabetic was as shameful as some see being in debt. I don’t tell real life people so this place has been a godsend. Thank you all

I'm with you, something has clicked for me this time and I'm enjoying eating better. I'm stuffing my face with chocolate today, but I'm looking forward to getting back on plan."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
