That's awful, but she clearly doesn't know you as you now are and surely it's not where we come from that matters as much as who we are now. Amazingly small-minded of her, though.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Sometimes people cannot cope with how successful people are in the present and taking them back to their worst time is a form of taking them down a peg or two.
I can bet they are not doing as well as you are.

INOD please see it for what it is... If they 'regularly' talk about something you did many years ago they have small minds and even smaller lives, if there's nothing more exciting happened to or around them since then.
If you must give it any thought at all then pity them and then get on with enjoying your rewarding and happy life. (((hugs)))I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Agree with everyone else on this! I suspect quite a bit of 'green eye' being projected here. B*gg*r to them!

She proceeded to tell me how she and her sister regularly talk about something I did as a teenager, that I totally regret but that was damaging only to me. Why do people do this? I just feel like I’ve been dragged back to the darkest place imaginable and that anything I’ve done since counts for nothing.
Not a friend then.
Quite toxic in fact.

Thanks all. I know I should just dismiss it but it’s difficult. It was also something that ex husband held over me so it did impact my life for quite a while. Hey ho, thanks for the input. I just couldn’t see the why. Def not convinced it’s to do with my great success though!
Right, it’s Monday and where did the weekend go. Saturday I did 5 hours at that client and that evening called to my mum’s with a takeaway. Yesterday I woke in pain that was so bad that I was crying as I woke. I don’t know if it was the angle at which I slept or what but my right shoulder up into my neck was painful. Little was done yesterday but painkillers and the application of gel seems to have gotten rid of the worst of it.
I spoke to dd yesterday evening. She has set herself a deadline regarding her course and work placement. It is not going as it should. She has assignment and logbook feedback due by 25 feb so will decide on her future based on that. The worst thing is, she’s very good doing what she does, her placements have not been appropriately handled to have her work with the right client group. Still, unlike her mother, she’s quite cut and dried about establishing deadlines and making decisions.
This week, that client’s manager is on leave so I will try to be in every day. This morning it’s to deliver training. However before he went on leave he took the screen and projector from the room I’m using for training. I will need someone to help with set up.
There were two tender opportunities available this week that I would have liked to bid for. I was waiting for input from a former colleague who hasn’t bothered to get back to me. I think it’s unlikely that they would go to a one man band so I will probably pass on these. I just wish people could be more open. Still, it is what it is and I now have clarity regarding this person.
Today I am grateful for

Some people are very sad if they regularly talk about something which happened years ago!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

I agree with what others have said about the so called friend at the funeral, they're either jealous/petty minded or both. Obviously someone to steer clear of in futurer. Your past mistakes should not define who you are today.
I hope your shoulder feels better soon, it sounds very uncomfortable. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Yesterday was a bit of a wash out. Went in to deliver training and only 2 out of 8 showed. Managed to get some stuff moved off my desk and am hoping to complete something today. Last night I issued an invoice then realised that I had short changed myself on an earlier one. That will require a discussion with a client as it’s £495 so not to be sniffed at.
I made a decision yesterday to let a few opportunities go. They were long shots requiring too much effort in too little time. It does however potentially make it more difficult to get my preferred line of work in the future. However it is what it is.
Today the dog let us sleep to 6.45 which makes all the difference. It will be a long work day for me as I will need to stay until around 7 this evening. I didn’t do c25k yesterday as my neck / shoulder thing was still painful. This session has been a complete wash out for me.
Anyhow I need to get motoring. Today I am grateful for
Free food that I shared
