Had breakfast with a friendly client. I had used dd to deliver his work last year and it was a well paying job. He wants her back temporarily this year and is willing to work in with her uni/ job commitments. Yesterday was however a 6 nations day so she was out of contact. At least this week she had a score to celebrate!
Yesterday afternoon we all had a nap. The dog had us up bright and early and we were out for dinner last night. For some reason dh never seems to recognise that he needs sleep. Or, if he does, he doesn’t have a nap as he’s afraid it’ll knock out his night time sleep.
Dinner last night was a bit spendy at £50 for the two of us. However it was to mark a good friend’s landmark birthday so I felt it was worth doing. I drove as usual so minimum costs there.
Completely unrelated but we were gifted a small windfall yesterday. This was completely unexpected and will go towards getting the damp problem in our kitchen tackled. This has been getting progressively worse since we had a damp proof treatment. I’m not sure what will need done but, as a minimum, we want to fully weatherproof the adjoining red brick ex boiler house. We want this shelved and it needs a new door. We have repointing that needs done and something needs done with the garage door as I can’t manage to unlock it. It’s such a relief to have some money to go towards it all.
Today we are going to Kondo our bedding. We bought 8 pillows recently from a voucher site for £17 and have our new hof stuff. We don’t need joyless stuff hanging around. Also, I noticed a sock I was wearing yesterday was wearing through at the heel. I was glad as I didn’t like the socks and getting rid would free up space in my sock drawer. It did however beg a question as to why I had a pair of socks, taking up needed space, that I did not like and did not really need.
Today I must shop as my second cuppa of the day finished the milk. This is a crisis! I also want to do a mini project, issue an invoice and get caught up with the ironing.
Today I am grateful
That I managed to get the kitchen table cleared
That a pleasant evening was spent last night

It’s Monday and I am tired. Yesterday I shopped between ic3land and the c00p restricting purchases to what was pretty much on my list plus a few whoopsied items. Unfortunately dh made in roads into one item I purchased that was intended for a different meal. Still, we can rejig.
Last night I got two work things cleared after call the midwife and I issued an invoice. Today I am doing a short day at that client as the deadline for job applications was yesterday and I want to get the process underway sooner rather than later. I have offered to collect my nephew from a hospital appointment around three so I won’t go back after that. I have other work that I need to crack on with and c25k at half six.
Today I am grateful for
Word of a smaller but unexpected windfall for the dc from the same source

So, the c25k! Well I came home early, got changed, drove up and on the first circuit felt my underwear start to slide down under my running pants. I tried siruptious hoicking put I did not feel at all comfortable. Instead I returned home, sorted myself out and the hound benefitted from an extra 20 min walk time.
Dinner was then from freezer and purchases made on Sunday. Work wise I cracked through some stuff yesterday, had some positive feedback and had an enquiry about a well paid one day assignment in the next few weeks. I finally tracked dd down and while she is keen to get the work, she can’t get a firm date for her first year to complete.
This morning I’m going to an event looking at what I need to have in place pre brexit. Working on both sides of the border means that this is a concern for me. This evening I have management committee meeting starting at half six and possibly need to swing by and see my niece on her 21st afterwards. I am tired! I am also clueless as to what I could give my niece as a gift.
Anyhow I need to get a wiggle on. Today I am grateful for
