So yesterday’s meeting ran late. However, apart from the price of a card, we managed to pull together a hopefully appropriate gift for my niece from stuff we had here. Or we would have if dh had listened about where to get a gift bag in the house instead of going and buying two to give choices. It’s a gift bag!
We showed our faces up there and escaped just around 11 at which point I nipped to the takeaway as I was starving and incapable of thought.
Today I am going to that client with some clear steps to take. I just need to get some things cleared. I tidied my desk in there 2 days ago and it has made such a difference. I now work through things a lot more methodically. I will have an earlier finish today as I have stuff to do for another client by tomorrow afternoon. I will be back there tomorrow morning to deliver training but the other client is less than 10 mins away.
Today I am grateful
That a relative got positive health news
That I managed to see my niece yesterday

Yesterday was a bit of a mixed bag. Went off site to buy lunch as I didn’t like the on site offering. I was a bit shocked at the price of 2 small buttered baps and a bag of crisps - £1.80. Some staff let my client down so I stayed until 7 to cover meal breaks. I also got some stuff cleared up.
I then came home and crashed. I am tired but at least the dog slept through until five to seven which was a help. Tomorrow I have a funeral to go to of one of my mum’s neighbours. I am therefore not going on site at that client but I will be there on Saturday. The manager is off all next week and I am expected to cover. Yesterday he announced that he would probably have his hours done this week by cop today so may not be in on Friday. He is not on flexible working but that is not my problem.
Yesterday a client approached me for a bid for some recurring / retainer work. It’s not what I want to do but would probably bring in a guaranteed £3.5k pa. my big problem is that I always end up delivering more time than clients pay for. Still, it’s less than two years since start up and I never thought that I’d be able to consider what I wanted to do. I’d still love to get back to my core service offering but that’ll take more time.
Today is busy as I’m delivering training this morning and doing 2 back to back client meetings afterwards. I have bought haribo hearts to keep sugar levels high for those at the training. It is valentines after all. Anyhow, gotta get going. Today I am grateful for
A quiet evening with dh and the dog
A better night’s sleep

Wow busy time ahead for you.
You are a good soul buying treats for your peeps.
Loving your gratitude posts.
Have a good day.

It’s not about buying treats Dolly, it’s about doling out bribes!
So, the one day assignment cancelled and the framework that I managed to get on in dec have advised that they won’t be giving me any work. I’m annoyed as I know there is work to be done but just a lack of organisation. If it didn’t involve dh’s work arena, I would kick up a stink. I am however still busy and have 3 opportunities to explore.
Today I have a funeral to attend and I am going nowhere near that client afterwards. Dh is taking this afternoon off. I’m not sure what we are doing but it’ll be good to have some time.
The 4 legged one started complaining at 6 this morning. We then discovered she’d left two messages on the floor of the utility room where she sleeps. It’s very unlike her but she is a total scavenger. She ducks into neighbouring gardens and headbutts bird tables etc.
We are both tired and it doesn’t look like dd is regularly returning to dog sit. It also seems to have gone quiet on her search for dog friendly accommodation.
Yesterday I got a valentines present of a shirt that I would have chosen myself if I could justify spends on non work clothing. I was well pleased with that. I reciprocated with a Lego Star Wars kit. This had 75% off in @sda where I randomly stumbled across it and also had a character that dh was looking out for. This stuff is so expensive I couldn’t believe I got a bargain.
Ok, need to get motoring. Today I am grateful
For a job that means I always have funeral appropriate work clothes

Great bargain on the Lego!
Hope the funeral is ok, and enjoy your afternoon together."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
Sorry to hear about the job situations but hope the other opportunities bear fruit.
Also hope the funeral goes as well as can be expected in the circumstances, but have a nice time with OH afterwards.
And hooray for Valentine's pressies that you both appreciate!
Shame about DD's dog friendly accommodation hunt. A couple I know is having similar problems. They always spend at least a week every year on holiday in North Wales and would like to relocate there. However, in order to see if they would actually like living there full time they want to rent there for a year before selling up. However, they have a much-loved dog and can't find any suitable rental properties that will accept dogs. Proving to be a bit of a pain! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Went to the funeral on Friday. All went well until outside afterwards when I met someone who I haven’t seen in years and who I thought was an old friend. She proceeded to tell me how she and her sister regularly talk about something I did as a teenager, that I totally regret but that was damaging only to me. Why do people do this? I just feel like I’ve been dragged back to the darkest place imaginable and that anything I’ve done since counts for nothing.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
