  • Sorry about your mum and the bowel spasms. Could they be connected, as in stress affecting your bowel? I'm glad you and your siblings have a united front as that's an enormous help in these situations.

I hope you get rid of nightmare client and the snow soon, as losing both of these would make your life easier!

  • Lazy start today as I didn’t get back from my second visit to that client until 11 last night. Still, it is progress as it’s getting something put to bed once and for all. Fridge was to be delivered between 7.30 and 9.30. They texted at twenty past eight to say they were running an hour late. It has just arrived. I sometimes despair of dh. He prepped for the delivery by putting the current fridge in the middle of the kitchen thereby restricting space for the delivery men. I really do wonder esp as he has a very logical mind normally.
Yesterday I had subsidised lunch at the client for £1. Baked potato with bacon, cheese and coleslaw. Other spends were for a small carton of milk.
I’m just getting ready to head back in for 2 hours then I have a meeting at another client who is close to home. That will mean an earlyish finish for some tidying before the accountant pops by to apply her foot to my rear.

    Today I am grateful for

  • I think its really difficult to make a decision when it is a 'bird in the hand' client. Personally I'd like to stop my merry-go-round client, what I am doing isn't sustainable, etc but the vague panic of what if there is no more work out there kicks in and I get my head down and batter on. Sometimes it is having the confidence to know that you are good at what you do, that there is more work out there, and actually you are more than worth what you charge.

Good advice... maybe you should read it yourself
  • Had a chuckle at your OH and the old fridge. Good news though that the new version is nicely in place ( the fridge I meant not a new OH!)

    Have a good weekend inod.

  • So, the fridge! A complete disaster. It was to be delivered late as advised by text. Box was bashed and we carefully peeled back the packaging to show that the fridge was damaged. We now have to house it for a minimum of 6 days before they may be able to collect. They can’t give us a collection time until the day before and we do have other commitments. Also, they advised that we can put it outside but must ensure it’s dry for pick up. Also, no idea when we might get a refund. Had call escalated twice to no avail and can only engage with senior staff by snail mail. Letters went signed for yesterday. Looks like another company who shortchanged ni based customers without stating in advance that arrangements are different. So, we continue without a functioning fridge as we can’t accommodate another while awaiting collection. I am beyond annoyed.

There is also a situation concerning my mother that requires my input this morning. There is no urgency other than to pander to a sister I had told that I would struggle to be available before 01 Feb. It also doesn’t suit the other sibling who works but I’m biting my tongue.

    Today I am grateful for

How annoying about the fridge. I agree with Beanie, try social media, you might get a better result!
