Always DIA. One of my children refer to my home as the “not so youth hostel”. Only requirement is that people are nice to the dog so you’re in.
Yesterday was a red letter day. I got a PA survey that gave me the necessary 7p to hit the £20 payout. It all worked like clockwork as the survey cleared in minutes, it was payout day and the money is already at the banks waiting to go to the mortgage. That will be done today.
I also got word that I won the tender I submitted a few weeks ago. It’s only for a few days a year and won’t pay until next October but it’s good to have guaranteed future earnings. Between this and my other contract, I now have enough for the next 2 years to pay my current level of salary and professional fees.
Another call off contract emailed me yesterday for further details so it looks like there may also be movement there. Plus I did a long day at the nightmare yesterday which is all money in the bank.
Today I am meeting another client for breakfast and going to the nightmare after lunch. One of their service users bought me a big box of malteasers yesterday which was lovely of him. I left them to be shared but it was so nice.
Is it awful of me to be glad that I squeezed in a visit to my mum last Saturday so am off the hook for a few days? She is my mother, I do love her but I find the relationship a struggle.
Today I am grateful for

Defo not awful, I am lucky in that my relationship with my Mum is great but I know a lot of people who really struggle with theirs.
It has a serious affect on them so I feel for you.
That was a nice wee treat for you.
Hope you have a good day.

Congratulations on the work :T
It's not awful to feel that way, sometimes relationships with people are difficult, even if you do love them."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
That's great about the work lined up. It must give you peace of mind. It's been a struggle of course but you have made this work after leaving a secure job. It is a huge achievement :T:TIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

With regards to your Mother I've found that loving someone doesn't mean that you always like them!...relationships are STRANGE! :eek:I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy1
