Sorry you're having a rough day - join me in my exciting day lying on the sofa with a hot water bottle, taking painkillers and trying to summon up the energy to read!

  • Went to Asda and bought some own brand sinus relief drugs. They helped, a lot. Took 2 doses yesterday and have taken another this morning. I need to be better with timing this though as they contain caffeine.
We did loads of laundry yesterday and are pretty much cleared up. I also cleared up all the ironing and the only stuff currently drying is bedding that I’m too lazy to iron.

I made french onion soup from onions purchased when on offer in Lidl. This is possibly the only soup I make that dh likes so should be made more often to provide him with some of his 5 a day as he doesn’t eat fruit at all and only occasionally has juice.
Yesterday was spendy as pet food was needed, a lightbulb for the stairs and some other bits and bobs that all mount up. It seems that there is a constant stream of money leaving at the minute with nothing major to show for it.
On the plus side, we found my credit book for the business account so a cheque will be lodged today.
Today I am at that client. I have a meeting arranged for the afternoon to move some stuff forward. Boundaries are being set this week. The manager is back. I don’t think he should be but given that he is, I am going back to my up to three days a week. One of these will not be a Friday as I am not there to facilitate his unofficial half day each week.

I am not going to get involved in his job but will instead focus on the things I need to get done. I need to do this for my own sanity.

    Today I am grateful for
    Clarity of purpose
    Toast and jam for breakfast
The clean bedding I slept in last night

  • I'm glad you're feeling a lot better inod - and managed to clear up the laundry!

Hope things aren't too stressful work wise today. It's a good idea to keep some distance from the useless manager.

If you have a chance, I suggest you get a pack of the night-time sinus relief tablets too. Otherwise you have to choose between the pain keeping you awake or the drugs doing the same!

Hope today's setting of the ground rules goes to plan!

  • Yesterday was productive which was good. Got stuff done at the client plus stuff done when I got home. Dinner was from the fridge and the cupboard. I sorted out a fridge shelf and a cupboard shelf for Christmas stuff to avoid early consumption.
SB sent me the £5 mands voucher I claimed to complete a swago so I’m back to £15 of their vouchers. I took advantage of a tcb £3 bonus to finish off dh’s Christmas present from amazon. I was toying with the idea of waiting to the first day of the cc billing period but was concerned that would be cutting things too fine.
    Today I am grateful for
    Avoiding a stressful situation
