  • Yesterday I wrote a mega post and promptly lost it. So I huffed, how mature is that. Huffing is bad enough but with an inanimate object! Really?
Yesterday was the first of 8 days that I wasn't at the nightmare! I was working on their stuff though. On Saturday I managed to get 2 invoices issued. They are for small regular amounts but it's a relief. I also got word back from another client who has green lighted the raising of another invoice which is for 5 times one of the two raised so good news there.

Friday's poorly paying job went well and I fitted in a trip to the sparks shop where a combination of offers and sb vouchers meant I paid £24 for £63 off stuff. I've managed some Christmas bits in with that.
My 4 legged alarm clock has not yet adjusted to the hour change. It'll be a tiring week. Anyhow, I need to get it underway.

  • DH and I are at odds. I am determined to stay there until he starts owning our finances. It is a struggle but I truly think it needs to happen. Bills needed to be paid and I told him that we needed a money talk so he disappeared upstairs. Eventually I got him down, at after 9, and what he had done was to check out the funds in the joint account which is really my account. I put this account into both names, he has never done this with his or with his savings. He transfers a set amount each month to our account and sees that as responsibilities sorted. If I buy something for me, he says it's about time but never suggests how it might be paid for. I'm fed up with this and I'm not even gonna try anymore.
For most of the time we've been together, I earned more than he and all was well. Now he earns a lot more than I and it seems like it's his money. We used to have a set amount for personal spends each month. That went out the window for me as we couldn't afford it due to my cut in income. It appears to have gone out the window for him too as, purely by chance,I saw a text saying what he now is paid. There's a considerable difference between that and what he contributes to our funds.
I had up to now thought he was just thoughtless. I'm not convinced when I find that the amount that is his is £900 a month when some months I'm running the car on fumes until after the credit card statement date. If I come out and ask for something to be bought or ask for cash, I will get it. I don't see why I should have to. He didn't when I kept the house going for 9 months while he studied. I feel dreadful. I actually feel sick thinking about how things are. I am struggling. I'm not a Cold War type of person but I'm gutted by my new knowledge plus that despite all his promises, there's been no change. He has access to every aspect of my life inc email accounts, finances, credit card accounts, etc. I don't even know how to access his email account set up on my business never mind anything else. That's not a partnership. We also have different views on personal spends. I've only realised that his photography equipment is being paid for from his earnings but not his personal spends. This is a hobby. I'm really not sure what to do.

    Today I am grateful for
Business support from a former colleague
    A fairly productive meeting yesterday

  • I hope you can get this all sorted out.

Maybe you just need to sit down and discuss it all then make a plan for the finances, I agree it isn't fair that you are struggling and he isn't. You shouldn't need to ask him for anything either.

I've been reading your diaries for some time now and you usually find a way through differences with your DH. Hoping you can both get back on the same page.

    Have a good day.
