Congratulations INOD on passing your exam - that must have lifted a lot of weight off your mind with regards to income. :j

Also having a cleaner in must take a load off your mind... at least you don't have to 'worry' about the big cleaning jobs not getting done. Worth every penny.... I can remember saying ( in my salad days:o) that I'd rather go to work full time and pay ALL of my wages to a cleaner if it meant I didn't have to do it. :rotfl:
Hope everything else goes the way you want it to. ((hugs))

  • I appear to have mislaid a weekend. I know I had one but it went by in a flash. On fri, after collecting the water, I then took a call from a retailer wanting to offload 30 old stock unused pillows. Cramming those into my car was fun! That said, it's great that people are willing to seek out homes for things as opposed to just dumping and donations like this do help.
On Saturday, I went to a former client event with DH. In total it took up 7 hours but I lime to support them. Yesterday I had to go into the nightmare for 2 hours as they are short staffed and recruitment has stalled due. It is not sustainable.

On Mse news, I checked my credit card yesterday as I wanted to take advantage of a 20% off sparks offer. It was so high that I actually checked if I'd paid it last month. I'm not sure how but I'd managed to forget about the holiday spends. This may be a good thing as it might keep my spending in check in the run up to Christmas. I did buy 4 things in m&s but am thinking of asking DH to fund the big item as my Christmas present. I've been on the look out for it for a few years.

Today my cleaning service starts. I'd had grand plans to give them a clear space to clean. Instead I've sent a text asking them not to ever start on the dining room. There's no point until some space is cleared. I've decided though to clear 15 champagne flutes into a box to be stored to give me better use of cupboard space. I do like nice glasses but they take up so much room!
Tonight we are going to see the new Michael Moore film. It starts at 8.50 so I'm not sure either of us will be awake at the end. Right, there's lots to be done and it won't happen while I'm on here.

  • Yesterday the cleaning service came. They were time limited but did so much that the difference was embarrassing. Did my hours at the client which was challenging and made worse by the chair dropping in. He's a recent widower and comes across as lonely but we really don't have the time. He made one staff member miss half her lunch while another spent half an hour with him then made a point of taking her full lunch allocation. Of course, we were short staffed due to illness. I am going to email him today and advise that this cannot be accommodated.

We went out for dinner last night. I didn't particularly want to go to the place DH had chosen and, let's just say, it met my expectations. However, it was round the corner from the indie cinema that was showing the new Michael Moore movie for £4. I was tired and it didn't start to 8.50 and I fell asleep part way through. That said, in spite of it being well made, I found the whole thing quite depressing. DH got a hopefulness from it, I did not.

Had a brief chat with dd. She's struggling to manage her finances as her bursary is paid in lump sums and she's used to a monthly income. However, I think that the lack of dog to return home to has also greatly improved her social life! Next tranche gets paid start of dec so we need to set ground rules for Christmas spend limits as she is a very generous gift giver.

    Today I am grateful for
Sleep, I am just so tired at the minute

Glad the cleaner made a difference. Don't be embarrassed about it, it shows that it will be a valued investment.

I'd never manage to stay up for a film that late at the moment either. What was the film about?
