From what I've seen, the left and centre are out doing something to change the country,

    What are they doing exactly?

I'm more worried about the election process tbh.

I have never heard so much trite nonsense from both sides. Many of the politicians did not even bother answering the question put to them.

If I was an interviewer, and I got 3 answers like that on the trot, I'd kick them out on their fat 'arris before the slot finished.

If it's an agreement & not a coalition then no cabinet posts.

    Thanks Hallmark.

Politics is changing, safe seats are not much longer safe seats, and I completely agree with your views on the opinion given.

Except the facts don't bear you out.

There have been 10 General elections since 1979:

In 3 of those, Labour, led by Blair, fought on a centrist platform & won.

In the other 7, Labour campaigned on a socialist platform & lost heavily every time.

The number of seats Corbyn won is exactly in line with this. They always get 210-270 seats in those circumstances. Nothing has changed. There is no new dawn.

Labour can appoint another Blair type & maybe win again at some point, or they can carry on with Corbyn & lose again next time. :j

i do wonder what will happen to the pound. i can see it go to parity. we have a huge CA deficit and this is set to grow bigger even more. risk of reduced investment into the uk as well.

Brexiters have repeated so often that a weak pound is a wonderful opportunity for British Industry to export more. In addition it will invigorate dying industry's and entrepreneurs will build new factory's to make stuff to export.
This Brexiter dream will happen even more quickly with the pound one for one with the dollar.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

You are correct, however there is a reason for this, the Labour party as a whole does not believe in the socialist side, therefore do not offer the support of funds or resources like at other times.

case in point, in this election 15 seats were fought to within 1000 votes with no support from the Labour party in terms of funds or even campaign managers to individual candidates.

One can make a case that if Labour supported its representatives they could have taken over 280 seats in this election, and as such there would have bought Conservatives down to roughly 302.

The Labour party now has a decision to make, on how the changing face of politics has shifted and now they have the opportunity to change tactics and move with the times.

Taking seats off the Tories at the moment.

You are highly privileged. You are witnessing a social democratic revolution spear headed by the young people you have categorised as lazy non voters.

    You must be thrilled!

And remember that the Conservatives were less than 1000 votes targeted in the right areas from not even making a DUP coalition possible.

Like I said, I think we'll be back at the polls this year, and a 1% swing away from the Conservatives will be catastrophic this time. I am willing to take a bet that it's what will happen, and there will be a Lab/SNP coalition.

I've just been chatting to every rich person in the country. They all said they're still rich & looking forward to another 5 years of the Tories in charge.

I did point out there were some people on bulletin boards that were very angry but they just laughed & said who cares.

PS they said please make sure that Corbyn bloke stays in charge so Labour lose next time as well :j
