I got Corbyn wrong, (mea culpa). I judged him as the media did, through the prism of conventional politics. Corbyn’s style is not to engage in the confrontational, personality based attacks that so often characterize parliamentary debate, but instead seeks to advance a vision of the future that he believes will work for the majority. He couldn’t and didn’t function in parliament as a conventional opposition leader, but the minute he was given the space an election campaign allows, he was able to articulate his vision, with specific policies, and engage directly with voters in a way no politician has managed for a very long time – probably since the days of Thatcher at her most successful! Now he has to unify the party and we need one more heave!

Nope, it's a minority govt, not a coalition.

I understand your error, considering your disappointment :rotfl:

Why would I be disappointed? I, like the vast majority of the country, was expecting an increased Tory lead so I'm delighted that Labour gained some seats.

Actually there are rumours doing the rounds that they might now be negotiating a formal coalition.

What is there to be disappointed about?

Corbyn, with everything going against him, took more seats than anyone could have predicted.

In fairness, I wasn't expecting him to do as well as he did, considering many things that have been said against him by just about everyone possible.

I even had an 'Oh, so you're expecting Cons to lose xx, and Labour to lose much less?' from someone on here, I thought about it, and came to the conclusion I didn't know. One thing is for sure though, I wasn't expecting Labour to walk away with a net gain at all, even if I was expecting the Conservatives to walk away with a net loss.

From a non-Labour voter; he has proven he can fight the establishment once, I'm sure in the resulting election that I'm expecting to be around October, if he can keep the momentum going, he can do better next time.

I think before the end of the year we're looking at a Labour-SNP coalition, and I think at this time that result will be in the UKs best interests.

I see the deal with the DUP lasting a few months max, rather than a 5 year term.

Conrad and Jock, I'm still waiting for the apology from you, with an admission that you were wrong :)

Perhaps they are busy organising Theresa's delegation to the Brexit talks because they clearly have all the answers:rotfl:

The DUP will be the gift that keeps on giving for Labour. Considering all the terrorism slander I expect they will go for the jugular now. Rightly so.

Btw. It appears Theresa has forgotten to hand in her resignation. I'm sure the EU will remind her the week after next.

The Tories have a truck load of hubris owing them and, oh look it's just arrived.

Beep beep beep. The lorry is reversing.

Rumble, the backs opening up. Omg, what is that stuff it's filled with? It's about to dump it all over Conservative HQ.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

and you wonder why? Haven't you been watching the cricket? England took the last 5 wickets for only 38 runs!!! Oz only got 277, when earlier they looked certain to post a score over 300.

I'll be going even quieter now, as I want to get out into the countryside with my dog for run, in time to get back for the end of the cricket and the football.
