Actually it wasn't just Labour supporters celebrating, it was Labour themselves. Corbyn & Thornberry (along with Russell Brand haha) were all talking as if they'd won & Corbyn would be PM.

I agree the Labour celebrations have fizzled out now as the initial euphoric disbelief that Corbyn actually won some seats has given way to the realization that the only thing that's really changed is instead of 3 years in charge the Tories have 5.

Wow, that's a whole new level of denial to my mind. I'm not a betting person, but if I was would definitely take a bet from you on that happening. The irony is that the Tories are now unlikely to have the three years they had before calling this unnecessary election and May's hubris and downright incompetence really beggars belief!

and you wonder why? Haven't you been watching the cricket? England took the last 5 wickets for only 39 runs!!! Oz only got 277, when earlier they looked certain to post a score over 300.

I'll be going even quieter now, as I want to get out into the countryside with my dog for run, in time to get back for the end of the cricket and the football.

Im in the garden with a tablet watching the frogs in my pond and have three fat dachsunds around me in the shade.

Perhaps they are busy organising Theresa's delegation to the Brexit talks because they clearly have all the answers:rotfl:

I think it might have been on Have I Got News For You that someone said they wondered if May might have sent Amber Rudd to Buckingham Palace to see the Queen! :rotfl:

How do you explain why many poorer areas, where university education is not the norm, still voted conservative, whereas many prosperous areas, usually Conservative, turned to Labour.

And why only in this election, where one party was giving away £50k+ to everyone going to university, did all the young folk suddenly decide voting is now cool.

Your opinion of young people sums up the reason why 80% of them won't vote for you.

It's lovely here too (Surrey) I'm just waiting for my wife coming back in (she'll be cycling while I run).

Have you tried diet food for them? My dog is quite fit, but his best weight is 29kg, and he crept up to 31kg, but I just got him down to 30kg, by mixing his regular food with diet food (50/50).

It'll be tricky when I get home, but I think I'll watch the football (obviously Scotland v England) on tv, and follow the cricket online at the same time, damn shame they are scheduled at the same time.

Am I correct in thinking that you are also a lecturer? If so, like me you are probably looking forward to the Summer, with all that marking now behind you.

Interestingly, in 2 safe Conservative constituencies, I've heard that 2 schools voted Labour and a third voted Lib Dem in their mock elections.

Politics is changing, safe seats are not much longer safe seats, and I completely agree with your views on the opinion given.

From what I've seen, the left and centre are out doing something to change the country, the right aren't.

I don't blame the young who voted Labour.

We all all vote in self interest in some fashion.

If there were another election, it would not be too hard for the Tories to go in with a fresh face, and to offer a different form of subsidised H.E to the student voter.

Maybe one which shared the risks and rewards with them on achieving well paid work afterwards.

Corbyn outflanked the Tories with sweeteners, so I don't see why Tories can't outflank Corbyn/Labour ?

Just went for a nice 2K swim, beautiful day for it :)

I see the level of bitterness has risen nicely while I've been away haha

Excellent news that May's two advisors have been dumped. Replacing them with some decent strategists had to be done asap.

Another relevant little top-tapper for Corbyn & his supporters

What's the source of your inside information?
    (This was my original post)
The intention is NOT to keep them under wraps. The EU will use the need for transparency (there are just too many Governments involved to stop leaks) as a negotiating ploy. The British side are hoping to keep it all secret but it is unlikely they will get their way.

    My reply is,
The Media in Britain and Europe quoting Theresa May and the EU.

    I paraphrase

May, "We will not be publishing any documents before or during the negotiations as this will show our hand.
And EVERY brexiter thought this a wonderful idea.

EU (Barnier) Two weeks ago "We are publishing today two working papers on Citizens Rights and the Financial settlement that we will put
To the British Government W/C 19th June" "we will publish every four weeks the results of the last four weeks of negotiations"

Frankly if you are not aware of the above you surprise me.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.
