Labour currently seem to be more united than in their recent history. The Conservatives have another leadership contest ahead. I think that this must be sooner rather than later. May cannot possibly lead you into the next election and has proven herself to be very weak. The new leader will need to be seen to have been pivotal in the Brexit negotiations and have a united party behind them in five years time or you may well struggle.0 -
All that posting you've done on social media. All for nothing. 262 miserable seats, a crushing defeat & no power whatsoever.
It only needs a tiny handful of Tory backbench rebels to scupper any given piece of legislation. Controversial things legalising like fox hunting again simply won't get through parliament. Other things will require a measure of cross-party support.0 -

With Brexit underway. Sundry matters will simply be dropped or deferred.0 -

Nobody cares about fox hunting its a fringe issue to an insignificant minority
They wont be able to do what the hell they like but they will still decide the direction of the country the direction of taxation the direction of budgets and spending.
Losing the majority was a mistake, they lost the battle but won the 5 year war.
I just hope they dont screw this period up. May is creepy and just seems dim with her continual repeated catch phrases and I will be glad to see the back of her but for now I would be happy for her to be in place for another 2-4 years. Hopefully she drops the catch phrases brexit means brexit sheeh whats wrong with talking like an adult.
No party lasts for ever labor will get in at some stage and now the next election looks more likely to be the one that turns blue to red. A lot can happen in those 5 years lets hope the tories dont mess up big time like yesterday.0 -
What happens with by-elections?
How many do they need to lose to lose the house or force another election?0 -

Thanks.
From the bottom of heart - thanks.
Now we are hearing Corbyns views. Wonder if he proposes nationalising their investments in the UK. Qatar has significant amounts tied up, not just the Saudis. Given the Saudi's invested and built the London Gateway port facility. Makes you wonder where JC's foreign policy could take us. Other than complete isolation.0 -
TM may have saved the union.
I will be the first to give you credit for that.
Thanks.0 -

yes next 5 years will be crucial. i think there will be even mre young disgruntled voters by that time wanting change and will vote labour so my bet is labour will win even under corbyn.
this means over the next few years is a good time to reduce exposure to uk. i am personally more invested in the US now.0
