What about during normal driving? Is it recording correctly, or is it still mirrored?

Not fitted the reversing camera yet, doing it this weekend.

Does the 64GB card work in the dash cam?

Yes it does, just make sure its a class 10 or above card. Played back on the computer the quality was excellent.

Doesn't it include software to flip the image?

No software came with it and no link to download. Are you thinking for playback? The reversing camera / rear camera is just an added bonus at the price they are you surely can't expect much more.

No software, but there are ways to flip it horizontally.

You can even flip it in VLC Media Player.

The only problem with flipping it, post filming, is it also reverses the time & date stamp on the recording.

I have been considering one of these but concerned that it may be too wide to fit between the sun visors.

Is anyone who has one able to post the total width of the mirror unit and how far it over hangs the cars mirror on the camera side.

Does the mirror have a dipped setting for at night when Land Rovers with far too bright lights are following.

    Thanks

Like most drivers I am used to reversing using a mirror image, if the camera displayed as a normal view I'd be backing into all sorts of obstacles.

BTW I got a 64gb micro sd for about £6.50 from ebay to record onto.

Yes I get that, I was just thinking of the number plates being reversed, I wouldn't want to use it as a reversing camera as I don't see the need. But I can see now it is the same image

The overall width of the mirror/camera unit is 12", and the distance from the edge of the mirror/camera unit to the edge of the camera boss (where it butts against the existing mirror, is 2-3/8".

To give you some idea of how it fits, I have an 07 Focus, and the distance from the edge of the mirror/camera unit to the sun visors is 1-1/2" (drivers side) and 7/8" (passenger side). Also, the mirror/camera unit is well forward of the visor, when the visor is anywhere between the vertical and 45 degree forward position.

No dipped setting, but the mirror has a very effective anti-dazzle tint.
  • I've solved the mirror image problem, and, in the process, increased image quality, and recording time. :j
  • Does it take a memory card and if so what's capacity vs recording time like please?

It does take a memory card (Micro SD - Type 10), with, according to the instructions, a limit of 32GB, but I have read unconfirmed reports of 64GB being used.

As for recording time, I can give figures for front camera only (I'm not using the supplied rear camera), at 1080p, and the recording time on that is approx 2 hours 20 minutes.
