  • Hi,
I bought one of these yesterday from my local Tesco petrol station. It's model is CPDVR3 just like yours, but my rear camera doesn't have an additional lead to connect to the reversing lights positive? It's just a solid black flex that goes from the mirror unit to the rear camera (although there is an inline connector a few feet from the camera with what looks like a tiny 5 pin din connector)

Am I just missing something? Or have I bought the wrong thing? Other than this difference it looks identical.

I've got an old shogun and rear visibility is awkward at the best of times, so camera and the parking grid would have been good.
    Thanks
    Matt.
  • I really don't know what to say mizerlymatt

Everyone I know who has bought one, has got one with the extra wire.

You could take it back and swap it.
  • Never mind Bedsit Bob, I contacted Co-Pilot...
    Thanks for contacting us.

Unfortunately we removed the red wire from the newer version of the CPDVR3 as it was causing some problems with the software when enabled.

You can still switch to the rear camera on the unit by pressing the left arrow and changing the viewing modes.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards

Seems I got unlucky. I'll just have to use the screams of pedestrians to gauge when I've gone far enough back ;)

I wonder if the reversed image is related to this?

But does it give you the grid lines?

As good a method as any. :D

    Yep reduced to clear.

Tried it for a day but just can't get on with it, with the angle I have my mirror I can't centre the camera.

I went to my local Tesco hoping for a bargain, unfortunately they don't stock them. I guess it's only larger stores.

No, it's the petrol stations that stock them, not the supermarkets.

You may have to ask for them, as I understand some petrol stations don't keep them on display.
