  • deffo put the reverse camera in. I didn't for a bit but wouldn't be without it now.

one of these putting plugging into say the electric windows fuse ( which only come on when the cars on ) and add another fuse in the spare slot for the camera https://www.amazon.co.uk/seguryy-Middle-Standard-Fuses-Parts/dp/B00V7WDGA6/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1491685034&sr=8-12&keywords=piggyback+fuse

    and one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N0EJX9J/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1491685165&sr=1-2&keywords=permanent+power+dash+cam
that one end goes into the camera power in. the red end joins up with the fuse and you connect the black end to any earth point on the care. It really is that simple if you have played with any type of wiring before.

the reverse camera just plugs into the mirror and you just connect the wires that come off the back camera into the reversing light wires. Theres plenty of guides on youtube if you get stuck.

I've mounted the rear camera to the underside of the spoiler, but the reversing lamp is under the bumper, so I'm going to have track to the wire going to the reversing lamp, and splice into it, as close to the spoiler as possible.
  • My focus has the reverse lights in the lower bumper and I thought it would be a git to get to but in the end I just lifted the boot carpet and wiring goes through a grommet and right in front of you :-)

Provided you buy their £160 Dash Cam.

I had mine fitted there when I bought elsewhere.

Actually, it's the length of the wire, which is going to be the problem.

The wire is only about a yard long, and if it's got to follow trunking, all the way from the spoiler to the reversing lamp, it's not going to be long enough.

I'm hoping I can splice into the loom, close to the spoiler.

    I stand corrected. :o

  • The original mirror mounting may get in the way on some vehicles.

How might it get in the way

The camera mirror simply clips over the existing rear view mirror.

In fairness the mirror is a lot bigger than the standard one on my focus and both sun visors touch it. But you could 'jiggle it a bit' if you did want the sun visor down.
