    Morning

N9eav, well done on supporting your OH, I'm sure you will manage on one wage, you'll just have to cut down on your fishing trips :D

Cut down on fishing!!!!!! I would rather starve
NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!
  • Afternoon all :)

Well it's freezing cold here at Duxford today, and currently chucking it down. I'm trying to be good and resist trekking over to the coffee shop for some chocolate biscuit cake (I allow myself this luxury once a month, and I haven't had this month's slice yet :D) I'm munching grapes instead in my nice dry warm office :D

    Birthday greetings/good wishes/hugs to all

Many Thanks for DS birthday wishes. He went off to school a very happy boy - he and his best mate get to sit on a special table for lunch, have a birthday cake made by the dinner ladies and everyone sings Happy Birthday.

Tonight he will be having hm cake made by my mum which is chocolate and is lovely.

Will show him your messages later. I am just sitting here with everything crossed hoping that the weather drastically improves tomorrow when he has his mates round. We have got plans in case it rains but will be much easier if it doesnt.

I suppose you could even argue that you need to go on more fishing trips, after all you will be providing free food ;)

Afternoon gang, hope you are all warmer than I am(SOOOOO COLD) Woke up with a splitting head and thought it was one of my infamous be sick all day ones:mad: BUT...... it is much better still there but copeable with.:j
Think today is a soup day:j :j (to be totally honest if I had my way EVERYDAY Would be a soup day in Annieland:rotfl: :rotfl: )So will make some bread shortly to go with it. Got MOT tomorrow PLEASE keep EVERYTHING crossed that everything is ok as Phoebe's health problems/blood tests /operation/painkillers/antibiotics have cost more than I feel comfortable with on here_pale_ _pale_ BUT.......she is more than worth it.
Have started the official complaint re the "specialist cat vet"(Yeah right:mad: ) as Phoebe suffered by his stupidity memo to self NEVER ignore your instincts again.
Need to do some very grown up thinking over the next few days/weeks Don't know if I mentioned when I first started posting I did a PGDL(the old CPE-Post Grad Law, the conversion course) that cost £2,700 in fees and obviously the books don't come cheaply(was not on net then) Anyway, I passed that and got a place on the L. P.C(old Law Society finals) THEN...DH contracts Meningitis and I leave the course(was costing £7000+)as impossible to give it the level of dedication it needed and also the money issues. Anyway, you get 7 years to complete the whole thing. Now...the money is a huge concern...but... possible rewards are very good.BUT......I am in my 40's, training contracts are scarce, they exist but...... See what I mean??????? Do keep my hand in various ways BUT.... Do I go back to full time teaching, carry on tutoring(love it but can be patchy) or????????????????????
Anyway, enough of this navel gazing. Sorry.
N9eav good luck to your OH the PGCE is very demanding and can be horrid.BUT..You are all in the same boat, it DOES get better and the time shoots by. Tell her to join a teaching union they are great. What age range is she doing?
