    Hi Malc,

I sent the information to WebForumAvisors@ eonenergy.com is this the correct address?
  • I just moved to Eon fixed v9 from EDF standard and set to save almost £50 a month across the dual fuel bill, calculations based on last year's consumption so should be pretty accurate.

Not sure why we didn't switch sooner!

    Hello LittleMissDetermined and welcome aboard.

Just a quick heads up and sorry if you already know this. For customers paying with a Monthly Direct Debit and registered with our website, there's an online tool available to help keep on top of the arrangement. It's the Direct Debit Manager and comes in handy should circumstances change.

Provided the account is billed up to the latest meter readings, payments can be changed by up to 20 per cent up or down. By up to 5 per cent up or down without readings. Before confirming the new amount, we'll let you know by how much we think the account will be in credit/debit by the annual review if the payments are changed but usage doesn't alter as expected. There's more information about this tool on our website.

Sorry again if you already know this LittleMissDetermined.

    (Midlands Region) v9

    Electricity:
    Unit rate 14.669p per kWh
    Standing charge 16.422p per day

    Gas:
    Unit rate 3.648p per kWh
    Standing charge 21.903p per day

I'm currently on v7 until beginning of next February.

Anyone who had an expensive v9 Tariff (such as the Midlands Region as above) may want to have a look at v10 since its a lot cheaper for me anyway.

    v10 for me:

    Elec 12.327p per kWh (v7 was 13.338p)
    Gas 3.067p per kWh (v7 was 3.038p)

A lot lower than v9, and cheaper than v7 even though gas is up a tiny bit, so I have switched.

Version 10 was released today nicobrum and glad it was better for you.

Like version 9, there are some regional variations so not everyone will see a benefit. There is one particular difference from version 9 that applies to all. Paperless billing is now optional with version 10 whereas it was a requirement with version 9. A Monthly Direct Debit remains a requirement though.

    Hope this is of interest.

I'm in the Midlands, V10 is exactly the same as V9 for me :( (14.385 and 3.648).

If they offered me the rates you posted I'd be switching back in a heartbeat.

I'm kicking myself a bit, because I'd not taken the MSE cashback into account in the past, which would have made v8 good enough to switch too.

Raxiel, are you East Midlands Region then as the rates you quote are lower than v9 were for me in the Midlands Region? Makes a change that Midlands is cheaper this time, first time since v7 I actually will save money on the new tariff.

Thanks Malc, yes I noticed late last night on a periodic visit to the website that the tariffs were unavailable so suspected a change may have been in the pipeline. For a change, its worked out cheaper for me, v8 and v9 were both more expensive, particularly v9.
