Thanks for the tip-off. V9 is cheaper electric for me in London (and no significant change for gas), so yet another internal EON switch coming up...

You probably already know Moneyking but thought I'd just give a quick heads up. Our Fixed 1 Year v21 tariff has no exit fees whereas the new Saver Fixed 1 Year v9 has a £30 fee per fuel for changing supplier outside the renewal window. Also, customers going on the new tariff need to set up an online account and pay with a Monthly Direct Debit. With v21, these were optional.
Sorry if I'm trying to teach you how to suck eggs Moneyking.

As above Raxiel. I can confirm our unit prices vary depending on the region. With this tariff, as well as the electricity, gas prices vary by region too. As you say, standing charges on these new tariffs are unchanged in all regions.

While I appreciate that prices vary by region, how does the company justify charging over 2p a kWh for electricity more in my region than others? The Midlands region is not exactly a rural backwater.0 -

Hello nicobrum.
The energy networks for both gas and electricity are broken up into several different regions. The cost of transporting energy can vary from region to region which leads to the different prices you see depending on whereabouts in the country you are.
We have to pay other companies to use their pipes, wires and cables to transport energy to homes and businesses. These costs vary depending on how much the local distributor charges for this service. Demand for energy in a given area is another factor as is the amount of energy generated in the actual area and how much comes from outside.
On our Saver Fixed 1 Year v9 tariff, whilst electricity prices in the Midlands (area 14) are higher than in quite a few other areas, they're lower than in some.
Hope this explains nicobrum.

Hi, as the Eon Saver Fixed 1 Year v9 has been mentioned in this thread, just wondering how long it's likely to be available for?
It is currently the cheapest for myself but not quite ready to switch over just yet. My current tariff is coming to an end but whilst it is cheaper I'd like it to run as long as possible.
I don't want to miss out, but don't want to switch too early either.0 -

No one knows when an E.ON tariff will be withdrawn except the higher ups at E.ON, even the front-line staff aren't told in advance. Sometimes they last for months (fixed v20 was around for almost a year), sometimes a few days (fixed v18 had less than a week I think). You can however, I believe, sign up and set the switch date as far into the future as possible to lock in to the current E.ON tariff and still get the most of your current deal (you can do it with internal E.ON switches so I'm assuming its the same for transfers).
Edit: According to the E.ON site, there is a planned maintenance scheduled for tonight, could just be a general update, but it's also gone down for tariff changes in the past so who knows?3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Thank you Raxiel0

Hello thejuggler and Raxiel is spot on. Thanks Raxiel. Our tariffs can be withdrawn at any time and we're told at round about the same time as the decision goes public. As I write, the Saver Fixed 1 Year v9 tariff is still on sale. Any changes usually appear on our website first.
Also to confirm, it's possible to delay a tariff switch for up to 52 days. This service is only for existing customers and isn't available if you're switching to us from another supplier. If you're already with us and choose this option, don't worry if v9 is withdrawn from sale before you're due to move on to it. Once a future date has been chosen, this will be locked in and you'll still be able to go on to this tariff on the specified date. Version 9 will then run for 12 months from this time.
Hope this helps thejuggler.

Excellent advice as usual Raxiel. Thanks for that.
Forward switches are, though, only available to existing customers and aren't possible if switching to us from another supplier.
I'm afraid the planned website maintenance you mention was just that. There's also another outage due next week on 11 May for similar reasons.
Thanks again Raxiel.
