Its not a significant reduction for me, only about £2 per month but better than the large increases for recent tariffs. That said, I've post dated the switch by the maximum allowed 52 days in case prices rise more next year ...0

I was looking at switching to v9 (it was more expensive than my current tariff, but it's coming to an end and there's nothing cheaper available from anyone!), but it's switched to v10 and my regions prices have shot up, so won't be switching now
Gas was 3.194 v9 but 3.648 v10
Elec was 12.159 v9 but 14.721 v10
Ouch!
Currently on 2.2 and 10.0, so will stay put for now and hope v11 is better!0 -
I'm in the Midlands, V10 is exactly the same as V9 for me
(14.385 and 3.648).
If they offered me the rates you posted I'd be switching back in a heartbeat.
I'm kicking myself a bit, because I'd not taken the MSE cashback into account in the past, which would have made v8 good enough to switch too.Sorry yes, East Midlands
That's right Raxiel. In electricity area 11 (East Midlands), prices for versions 9 and 10 of this tariff are exactly the same. As above, the difference with version 10 is paperless billing is optional where it was a requirement on version 9. In the East Midlands, both version 9 and 10 are more expensive than version 8.
Sorry this isn't of interest this time around Raxiel.

Thanks Malc, yes I noticed late last night on a periodic visit to the website that the tariffs were unavailable so suspected a change may have been in the pipeline. For a change, its worked out cheaper for me, v8 and v9 were both more expensive, particularly v9.Its not a significant reduction for me, only about £2 per month but better than the large increases for recent tariffs. Great spot nicobrum and glad it's worked out better for you. Great use of the forward switching tool on our website too. Don't worry if we withdraw the tariff from sale before your chosen date. This will be locked in and you'll automatically go on the tariff on the specified date. Version 10 will then run for 12 months from this time.

Sorry this isn't so good for you 2013yearofthehouse. As above, prices are regional. Whilst some would be better off (nicobrum), for others there's no change (Raxiel); whilst, for customers like yourself, there's a definite price disadvantage.

We've been using EON in the past one and a half year (dual fuel) and paying variable rate, Energy Plan, which was increased in April 2017. We looked at Which? and found other companies with much cheaper tariffs (Thinking about switching to Tonik)
I just checked on other rates by EON and found the Cap and Track 1 Year, with quarterly review. I couldn't find any information about tariff/how much per unit for this new plan, only £50/m for gas and £55/m for electricity - we currently pay 16.181p (Electricity) and 4.102p (gas) with quarterly payment via card/bank transfer, and it's the most expensive rate, I would assume.
We would switch and use direct debit monthly instead.
Any suggestion/information would be much appreciated!

Hello WA01 and welcome to the Forums.
Have you registered with our website? If you have, you can see a quote for our new Cap and Track tariff by logging in and going to 'change your tariff.' Go to 'Review' for details of the tariff and then to 'Tariff Information Label' (at the bottom of the page) for prices.
If you decide to go for a Monthly Direct Debit, you can sort this online too.
Hope this helps WA01. Let me know if you need any more information as happy to help.

Hope it's ok to post this on this thread, but noticed that Malc, E.On rep was here and might be able answer my query.
My sister has been with E.On for years, she is not online and cannot take advantage of the MSE cheap energy club. She normally pays her bill by going to her bank, she is elderly and no longer able to do this, so a relative with access to a computer, arranged to pay online with my sister's debit card. Soon afterwards she recieved a 'sorry you are leaving us' letter from E.On - she was most distressed by this as she had not applied to change suppliers. It has now been sorted out by E.On, they say that another supplier attempted to hijack my sister's account - surely this is fraud? E.On must know which supplier it was and we need this information as I wish to take this further. My sister has suffered enormous distress not knowing what was happening & thinking she was going to be cut off, this hijacking of customers has to be stopped.if i had known then what i know now0 -

Morning luv_my_brass and glad we've sorted this for your sister.
It sounds like she suffered from what's known as an Erroneous Transfer. This is when a customer is transferred to or from a company without their knowledge or agreement. It sometimes happens when meter reference numbers and addresses are mixed up on the National Databases. These databases hold details of all the electricity and gas meters in the country. All suppliers use them when handling a change of supply and sometimes apply for the wrong account, particularly when two addresses are similar. Not saying this happened to your sister, it's just something that can happen.
Usually, the supplier taking the supply will contact the customer affected to introduce themselves and send a welcome pack. Don't worry, if your sister didn't receive this, I'll be able to find out who tried to take her account. If you drop an email with the account details to the address in my Profile, I'll be happy to let her know who this was.
Look forward to hearing from you luv_my_brass.
