Hi all, I'm having a productive day here! Was awake early so got the slow cooker on with a lovely veg chilli for later using up all the bits that needed used quick.
OH made up a batch of breakfast bars yesterday so had that and some yellow sticker fruit and brought in a freezer burrito for lunch.
On my lunchbreak now and just sorted out balance transfers to new 0% CC so I can get that debt cleared quicker.
Transferred some piggy bank money to our holiday fund and set up a DD to a savings for my wedding.
Did some clearing out of the boys room and got a load of stuff to go on Ebay later.
Doing some surveys and comps before I need to get back to work.
Hope your all having a lovely day!0 -
BaileysBabe - Sorry to hear you are suffering from horrible monthly afflictions. I used to feel so bad every month (the best thing about the menopause is definitely not feeling so horrible with cramps, migraines & shocking tiredness). I wish I could tell you that sometime between the ages of 12 & 51 I found something which worked, but I'm afraid it was always just codiene & hot water bottles for me. I did find the awful fatigue & sort of dizziness was better if I made sure I kept my blood sugar really stable, so I always had sensible low GI snacks with me to help with that. I do sympathise. You hear so many bad things about the menopause, but as someone who always suffered on a monthly basis, it couldn't come quick enough!! Take care x

Dawn, that's a pain re postage.
I've just remembered my road tax is due but I will pay it from my current account and NOT put it on a credit card.
I kind of have a plan for the month. I am going to do one supermarket shop to stock up on a months worth of cat food/toilet rolls/washing powder/fruit juice etc. (all the things where my local Mr T doesn't stock the cheap ranges) so I will not be tempted by anything else while I'm i there each week. Then I will allow myself five pounds per day to feed us all from the local shop, preferably with YS bargains.
Today I have underspent so far, I just bought some rolls for dinner tonight (I have YS SFC fillets in the freezer and coleslaw), some sausages for lunch, a mulitpack of crisps, some mustard (to go with said sausages) and a carton of value orange juice, I will try to grab some YS sandwiches tonight for lunches tomorrow.
Hope everyone is having a good day

Hi everyone
Not been around for a couple of days - work has taken over and coupled with the insomnia I also have then I'm not in the mood for anything much other than sleep once I'm finished in the evening.
Hello to everyone, and welcome to new people.
Not much money saving - 2 days until payday and for the 3rd month in a row I'm finding it a struggle to get to payday. I'm skint. Maybe I can have a month where I don't have something sucking the life out of my finances. Unlikely in April as there are 2 weeks off school.
Had to pop to Mr M on the way home for milk and bagged myself a decent YS haul which is the first in a while.
And as for dh - I practically have to force him into the shower. I WISH he would go in every day...Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

I haven't been around for a few days either. Always seem to be rushing around with paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork. Hopefully things will start to calm down now.
Not much money saving going on here. Lots of little spends have really blown my March budget I was monitoring.
I did put a dress on eb@y, it does seem unusually quiet. Nothing was really happening and I didn't want my daughters beautiful dress that she has hardly worn going for 99p, so pulled the plug on the auction.
Tesc@ had a glut of mum's day flowers left over going cheap yesterday-75% off so my daughter decided to get some for my mum.
Haven't needed to have my heating on at all, but cold, windy, rainy weather today, I gave in and had to put the heating on as I don't do well with damp weather
CCL it's always the way, when you really don't want something sucking the life out of your finances month after month- u can guarantee it will happen. Hoping that u manage to get some proper sleep.
Must say welcome minxette and MrsLWW it really is a great thread, has helped me no endDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I know what you mean about the forum LaE. My DH thinks that posting on here is a bit odd so I sort of keep quiet about it. Definitely wouldnt want him reading my posts either!
CCL our finances have been a disaster this month too, hard not to worry about it. Lets hope April is better.
Lots of paid stuff today with the gym in between. Tired now.0 -
CCL, I remember a time when my DS wouldn't shower, to this day the smell of Million aftershave reminds me of camouflaged teenage body odour smell
The rolls and SFC have been rolled over to tomorrow as I managed to get two packs of two fresh cod steaks in some kind of posh butter for 30p each so we had those instead with mash and sweet corn, they were sooooo nice, will definitely grab those again if I see them.
Apparently our reductions aren't going to be so generous from November as they will have a charity coming in to take it off their hands. Never mind, we have had a good run and there are still a good few months to make the most of it.
I did a fridge and freezer inventory tonight as I'm thinking of doing a diary for my frugal month. I'm amazed how much is in there, it was a good exercise in reminding me what we DO have thats getting forgotten about.
Hope you are all having a lovely evening

Hi everyone
Oooh DNMS - you are wild!
It's amazing how you can get your kicks in an MSE fashion :rotfl:
Nice to hear it's not just me, Yorkshire.

I had big plans for last night, but this is how it panned out: Decided to get fish n' chips rather than cooking (7pm), ate on the sofa, laid on the sofa watching tv until 8.30pm, went to bed, got up at 6.30am - Wow! Epic night! Must've needed it.
Here's me today:
Cheapo porridge brekkie; free milk from work :A
Packed lunch - sandwich, crisps, satsuma
Working job#2 tonight - although this is costing me at the minute rather than paying me and I don't have the energy to try to build it back up atm...
OH is working 2 x job#2 tonight
Bit of car sharing shenanigans going on - still happily a one-car family...honest!
Put 3 bags in work's charity bag collection :A
Tonight I need to pack for w/e away - leaving straight from work tomorrow - will write a list throughout the day so there's less chance of me forgetting something.
Payday tomorrow - looks like we've managed to save an extra £300 this month - last month on payday we had £800 left and this month we have £1100. And paid £1042 towards debts too. :T Need to see how much we can squirrel away before OH's job finishes...0 -
