I took in all food and snacks from home today (note to self, never eat a whole pack of grapes in one day again  )
Dinner tonight was the beef and ale stew with cheesy dumplings. I still don't like dumplings, cheese or no cheese, but the gravy was lush. DS only ate the beef but DSGF loved it and finished the rest of his too! I'm counting that as a success
Today wasn't a NSD as DS needed new jeans which meant a trip to prlmark, I got two pairs as his others are all looking knackered. Two things sold on eBay which will more than cover the cost so I'm still winning!
The bathroom needs a clean so will do that while I'm running a bath.
Have a lovely evening all

Morning - boo back to work today and regretting bitterly to agreeing to do an additional day a week overtime until the vacant post is filled
have 121 with my manager and might be honest and say I don't really want to do it! Hard to not have the additional cash but I love the time off so much!
Last night madam wasn't great so she might be sickening with the bug I've had. I'm not feeling great today either! Will see what happens when she wakes up but if she has to have the day off it's oh's turn...
Things for today:
* still need to make payments for the month. I always take this as near to the payment day as possible. Clearly a masochist!
* make madam's lunch. I'm taking a marmite sandwich I made yesterday but didn't eat
* email seed supplier and ask for replacement packet of seeds
* going to go and check on wormery and seedlings in a minute
* quick shower and hair wash shortly
* make note of mileage. I need to submit my claim on Friday as it's my manager's last day and if I don't I don't know when it'll be approved
* going for a meal with colleagues to say bye to our manager tonight. Have given up drinking so mine shouldn't be expensive! But between us we're paying for hers
* would like to do flylady tonight but really will depend on how I feel when I get home
* paying for patio slabs today will put a £1 on my cc for ins protection
* read martin's email
* received £7 interest
Ok that'll do! Happy days guysDF as at 30/12/16

Morning all

Babysitting today, so realistically, not much will get done! It is cold and damp, and little one has a cold (again) so I even have the heating on! Still, at least the rain overnight will have watered the garden.
Little things:
Folded dry washing from yeterday and put in airing cupboard
Entertain GD for free, though she is a bit listless and doesn't want to do much (she may have a sleep as apparently she was awake for hours overnight coughing
)
HM meals, plenty of ham left over from yesterday for dinner
In progress
Half price fish box arriving from Campbells at some point today
Kept one item out, froze the rest, looks lovely
Do love Campbells (no connection to them except as a customer, they are at the opposite end of the UK to me, just really like good offers and excellent customer service!)
I notice postage prices have increased, so will have to update my ebay listings (all 185 of them
). Need to think how best / easiest to do this. Can't do all in bulk as items are different sizes / weights so postage not the same
I only charge what the postage actually costs, no extra, so I need it to be accurate to avoid losing out! Sales are so slow atm that I decided to just adjust the postage as items need relisting - if I lose a few pence on postage in the interim, at least I will have sold something! Anyway, 8 items ended today, so I have updated the postage.
Run out of inspiration and GD is calling me, so will be back to continue / update later!
GD is poorly and clingy, so not much done
I gave her some calpol at 3pm and she was at least in decent form by the time her mum came back - warned mum that more calpol needed before bed time which will be after 7pm as she slept for half an hour. She didn't really eat anything worth mentioning
She did play with her farm animals, the playdough and in the sink for a while (not all together  :rotfl:) but spent most of the day wanting to be cuddled and watch cartoons on my phone (love the cuddles, but paw patrol... no!)
Heating off now, but wood burner alight, and I am warm for the first time today! Early night calling I think!

Purple Fairy Thank you for starting this weeks thread.
DNMS thank you for trying to get us started.
Dd's party was great fun and all the parents joined in as well.
Sunday I received home made cards and the children made me a special meal with OH's help. It was lovely as the children put some real effort into deciding what things I like. They made Thai inspired fish parcels followed by salted caramel gingerbread muffins.
Monday I was exhausted as well as the beginning of my period. The cramps were so bad I could barely walk and I felt so fragile and irritable for the days leading up to Monday, if anyone has any ideas on how to alleviate these symptoms please let me know.
My phone has developed an intermittent fault where it says the battery has plenty of charge, I go to use it and suddenly it has no charge. I changed the battery and it worked fine for a while then looses all power. I then charged it over night but as soon as I used it had no charge. Charged it again now it seems fine.

Hi everyone
Woke up to a nice surprise of £117.55 having been refunded from old energy co. :T Have promptly put it into petrol piggy, emergency fund and to pay dog care place, i.e. things that were technically gonna be in next month's budget. I
how mindful YNAB makes me! #budgetrevolution
Today is last-of-free-porridge day - must remember to bring brekkie tomorrow...
HM pot noodle for lunch...although not sure it will fill me up...
Free tea x 3 in work
Putting in a cheque at lunch time
Sort a bit of the kitchen tonight... Lots going on there but I won't bore you!
Had a conversation with OH about posting on forums (him saying he never does it anymore). I don't really make it known that I post on here - never really thought of it as something I hide from him but then never mention that I do either (mainly because I sometimes talk about him...!
). I do say the odd 'I'll need to post on small things that I've taken my lunch to work' but I kinda think he thinks I'm joking :rotfl: All a bit cringey really - I know if he ever found out he'd be asking why I never mentioned it... Might need to change my user name and show him a new forum I've found!! 0 -
Morning Frugalistas,
Bit of a routine day today. Have to go out to an early meeting tonight, so everything needs to move forward an hour & it kind of interrupts my plans. Anyway, today's money saving activity:
*Ironed only what really needed it. No point wasting electricity on pressing every little thing.
*Watered baby cucumbers with leftover ironing water.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch,
*Did next week's meal plans. This got underway because mr was going on about the UK cauli glut & what a shame it is that some farmers have so many they're ploughing them back into the soil. That made him fancy making a cauliflower cheese. So I thought I may as well use that idea to launch meal planning for the week.
*Finalised what I intend to bake for Easter. Am going to give home-made fudge & bake Easter biscuits for gifts which will save the usual £20 to £30 spent on chocolate eggs, etc.
*Did a few surveys, including one long one to report back on a product I'm testing. Purplefairy - I am same as you with Onepoll......5p away from cash-in & ne'er a survey in sight! This always happens. It'll be a couple of weeks, then we'll be sent some again. I am convinced they have a monthly quota of how many £40s they pay out. I've always been paid though, so am not worried.
*Postie brought a bundle of rubbish this morning, but among it was an envelope from Waitrose with some money-off vouchers, so I've stashed those in case useful.
*Coloured my hair with my bargain box of colour - saved gloves & washed out plastic bottle so can use to get next 2 root applications from one box.
*Knit more of B-in-Law's sock.
*Recycle a surplus calendar into a temporary diary for mr f. His current one is for the academic year & no use for all the Autumn/Winter bookings he's getting, & he's decided it's a waste of money buying one before January.
*Email Sainso's again about a faulty product purchased last week. Very unlike them not to reply. Reckon something went wrong with the technology. Will try again. Not a big spend, only £2.50, but it's our £2.50 & was spent on a useless product, so would ideally like it back.
Think that will be it for today as have to prepare for this meeting. Trying to keep busy to take my mind off stressing.

BaileysBabe - Sorry to hear you are suffering from horrible monthly afflictions. I used to feel so bad every month (the best thing about the menopause is definitely not feeling so horrible with cramps, migraines & shocking tiredness). I wish I could tell you that sometime between the ages of 12 & 51 I found something which worked, but I'm afraid it was always just codiene & hot water bottles for me. I did find the awful fatigue & sort of dizziness was better if I made sure I kept my blood sugar really stable, so I always had sensible low GI snacks with me to help with that. I do sympathise. You hear so many bad things about the menopause, but as someone who always suffered on a monthly basis, it couldn't come quick enough!!
