Welcome Minxette!
As I was out last night I couldn't make the YS run so had to buy lunch today but have gone for a $1 pack of cocktail sausages and a pack of crisps! I also managed to pick up a bottle of ale to do a slowcooker steak and ale stew tomorrow for 89p :T
My mum gave DS some money to treat me for MD so he's buying a takeaway tonight
My booking has been extended until the end of April now, which is good. I still have next week off but it means I can enjoy it without worry where the next booking is coming from.
Tomorrow is the payday where I will only get paid for 8 days, I'm looking on it as a bit of a challenge, I'm going to increase my amount to #10 a day on the wannabe challenge and will have to start thinking creatively!
I listed a couple more things on the bay of e last night for 5 days, if they don't sell I'll take them to the table top sale with me. I have a bunch of books in my basket on WBB that I will take and try to sell for more than the WBB price, if they don't sell I'll bring them home and complete the order.
Hope everyone is enjoying the lunch time sunshine!
Feel better soon DNMS and any other poorlies.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Hello Monday Savers,
Here's today's penny-saving list....I've done most of it.
*Cheapo overnight laundry done & drying outside on the line. Washer re-loaded for same again tonight.
*Tomorrow's packed lunch made.
*My Big Budget Day, so reconciled March budget & set April's. It's going to be a tight month because we had a couple of bits of extra expenditure & then mr f's expenses claim didn't get signed off in time to be paid so we are £200 down on what we were expecting. It'll be paid next month. Was not able to pay anything into our usual Savings Piggies, though I have paid the WTSHTF fund. Have allowed for all bills (increases in both Council Tax & water rates), our 'Personal Spends', mr f's petty cash for work-related parking & occasional bus fare & paying both CCs in full. And groceries, of course at £200 for April. Mum gave me £20 yesterday as a thank-you for clearing their garden so I am prioritising a big piece of Easter lamb with that & will be looking to get lots of meals from it. I've left a cushion of £100 in our account in case of emergencies. We will be ok, we just need to stick to my budgets like glue.......but frankly, not much point spending ages devising them if they get ignored, so April? Bring it on!
*Did a few surveys.
*Wrapped 2 ebay items - had only sold 1 item as of last night but another sold this morning.
*Paid 9 x 50ps into my sealed pot.
*Cut out & stashed a few grocery vouchers from a magazine & some received through the post.
*Entered 4 prize draws.
*Am so chilly today, I've got my huge Peruvian cardi on which only usually comes out for festivals & camping. We always turn the heating off on March 31st, but mr f decided to turn it off yesterday to save 5 days of electricity......which is commendable but I am sooooo cold!
*Read meters & uploaded readings to energy website.
Think that's about all. Must pop down to greenhouse & check seedlings.
F x2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (46/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg

Hi all
Didnt sleep well. I know that we have overspent this month, just a few smallish bits of unexpected spending on top of an already very tight month but it's bothering me. Need to have a really frugal week this week.
Been to the gym and showered there. Made pasta bake for tea then remembered that DH is going to be late home, just hoping his share is still edible by the time he gets in.
Right, more paid stuff to do. Oh and a grey chilly day here, washing has been out but not dried so it will have to go over the airer in a bit.0 -
Hi Everyone.
I am planning a quiet week.
Taken lunch to work today - Soup and I have enough leftover for tomorrow, aiming to take lunch for the rest of the week.
I need to have a spring clean as the clocks changing have highlighted loads of cob webs and dust :-)
I have set up auto transfer for Childcare and Auto payment against CC.0 -

Thanks to everyone who asked after me on last weeks thread, I've just caught up on all your news as I was missing in action for a while due to costly curveballs & family drama's! I'm trying to get back on top of things so need to get back on with the "small things"
Today I have
* Taken the kids to school for free breakfast at the breakfast club
* Been to the gym to make the most of my membership, also filled water bottle there
* Home for brunch (can't eat before I workout so money saving as I just have the one meal 11am ish instead of breakfast and a lunch
)
* Sorted out the gravel in the garden as it had thinned out in places exposing the plastic membrane thingy, I really can't afford to be replacing that for the sake of spending 1/2hr working on it.
* Washed a load and drying it on the line
* Sorted out the greenhouse (I don't use it but my dad does so cleared it up for him
) Found some slug pellets and some plant feed at the back which means I can knock plant food off the shopping list
Got rid of a few of the kids really old and battered garden toys, good job its plastic recycling collection this week
* Checked banking & updated my spreadsheet
* Recorded mileage - this has been worth doing this year as I always guessed annual mileage for insurance purposes, last week I've been able to quote an accurate figure
* Gathered up various tools from around the house/green house and put them all away so that we all know where to find them when needed next time
* Got ys sausages out of the freezer for tomorrow nights kids tea as they have friends over.
* Contacted ikea about a handle that the thread isn't right on, they're sending a replacement part in the next few days
* Sorted out my purse after a very spendy weekend, receipts filed and vouchers we won't use/out of date binned.
To do,
** Plan a dessert from stores for tomorrow when kids mates are over
** Tonight's food is leftover chicken from yesterday with salad & jacket potatoes
** Make sure the kids have done their jobs & homework, reluctant to get them in as its nice weather and we know it won't last!
** Get the washing off the line
Right I think that's about it. I feel a bit better listing what I have actually achieved today around school runs, gym etc as when I got home I didn't think I'd got that much done!
Hope everyone has a good week.

Hi everyone lurker/newbie,
Great ideas on here. Very excited as this month DH and I have came in on budget for the 1st time in a long time. This week I will:
- Continue to religiously make ice cubes in our 3 trays and decant fresh ice into my big tupperwear box in the chest freezer (guilty of spending £1.50 on bags of ice regularly, especially when we have guests coming)
- Chopped up some whoopsie lemon's into wedges and froze them.
- made up 8l of diluting juice for the next couple of days
- sorted out the kitchen cupboards and freezer and made up a meal plan with the ingredients
- found DH's deodorants online for a £1 (he will only use the stick ones - got them in the £1 for a while but not seen them for over a year - so half an hour of googling saved me nearly £2 a tube)
- 1/2 way through spring cleaning the kitchen which meant today was a NSD for me, as will be tomorrow
- will iron a couple of uniforms and lay out my bits and bobs for my shifts on wed and thurs and organise something for lunches
- determined to run down all my bulk buy stuff throughout the house
- just finished applying for another bank account as DH and I run our finances the jam jar/piggybank way
Very excited for the 1st as that's when all our money changes over and SO/DD'S are paid, so I know what's left over to throw at the debts.
That's it for me.Debt peak approx £30,000  now debt free!!! :j
My parents always said "If you can't afford it cash, you can't afford it!" so true!.... mind you, turns out we can't afford much lol :rotfl:0 -
