  • it's been a blissful day (except for madam who's behaviour is a bit off key post contact :( ) I went to the allotment for an hour this morning, dug over a massive bit for 45 mins, got quite a bit of marestail out - keep reminding myself each bit is a bit less that will grow and if I can keep on top of it (dig it out whenever I see it's ugly head appear above the ground) it will eventually die off! moved my strawberry plants as after researching & realising I had planted them too close to each other.

I managed to get 2 of the flower containers and built a tower with 20 strawberry plants in

then we went to the big day out and met up with friends

since getting home I've sorted out our bedroom and the kitchen. Will vacuum downstairs and polish the lounge after madam goes to bed

I've offered more strawbeery plants to my childminder so need to divvy what is left between her and my friend

phew I'm tired! Think I'll have a long soak in the bath with my book when I'm done :)

    Evening all :)
Hope you feel better soon CLF :(
Fingers crossed the cat turns up HK!

Shattered here, after a very early start and the car boot sale. Made £70 after pitch fee, and got rid of lots of carp, so it was worth it! Tooka flask of coffee and sausage sandwiches for brunch to avoid the hideous and expensive catering van  Wouldn't mind if it was nice, but it is just horrid, tried it once, never again!

Apart from that - well, not much :o Went round to DD2's for a bbq this afternoon, so didn't have to cook :D DD gave us some eggs from her hens and ducks, and my mothers day present which she had forgotten to give me when she was round last - a bottle of prosecco and a pack of gladioli bulbs :) GD and I will have fun planting those next week.

La E, I am quite jealous of your planter! As for what to grow, well, what do you like? If it were mine I would grow a mix of flowers, herbs and vegetables (as I love the look of that) but you could fill it with all one type of thing too, if you preferred! If you want to start with something easy, you could try radishes, carrots (the ones described as 'early' grow quickest) and salad leaves :) Courgettes are easy to grow, too.... or you could fill it with summer flowers instead :)

I came away empty handed from the YS shop, they'd started early and two women I've never seen before but apparently used to be regulars had most of it but even they didn't have the cod or the grapes so they must have got sold at the intermediate price.

I've listed four more things on the bay of e and have since spotted three more things that can go on. I'm knackered now so they can wait until tomorrow.

I wasn't in the mood for curry once it was cooked so had a sandwich instead and will freeze my portion once it's cooled.

I feel like I've got lots done today but I'm so glad I'm not at work tomorrow and can have a lie in though I will set the alarm for 8.30 as I need to make a doctors appointment and they all go within about three minutes!

Well everyone's kind wishes must be paying off as it is a positive sighting.
We went to the house later, and a young lad answered who used to be in my daughters school. Said that the cat that had been hiding was black, came away feeling really disappointed but both of us had gut feelings that it was her as my daughters cat is a torty with very dark colours.
. Although the location isn't far from home, and we live in a rural area, it would have meant her crossing a busy road which we never ever thought she would do, but where she has been once across the road would have been easy to get to, very sheltered.
She has been in the back garden bushes for 3 nights.
My daughter didn't leave any details with him, but we've put it out everywhere and later on my daughter gets a message from the young man asking if she was the girl that lost her cat and did she have some extra photos of the cat. He then confirmed that it was my daughters cat but the cat wasn't in the bushes in his back garden tonight. He messaged my daughter to say that he would also go looking along his neighbours aswell but it was getting too dark.
After visiting there originally and no one was in we took a drive round the back and it is more houses back to back with a passageway down the middle with lots of greenery and lots of shelter
Hes got a cat of his own, so understands the stress they can put us under.
My main hope now is she keeps going back to the spot and waiting on tenterhooks to get a call if she is there and shoot straight round.
I will start this coming week on a positive note and an extra cat up again, but many thanks for your kind wishes everyone, they really are much appreciated xx
