Morning frugal pals (frugal just auto corrected to drugs :rotfl:) good job I was paying attention

My list today;
Used free bread from yesterday for sausage sandwiches for 3 of family for breakfast. I had toast with it.
Make cake, realised I don't have cocoa powder, may just make without ad it has chocolate in it anyway.
Mackerel I got out for yesterdays tea tonight as I had an extra for tea last night so I used kale pesto as it was easier to stretch than 2 fillets between 3
Blitz last of kale and freeze
Meal plan for week, have some meals carried over from this week so only need a couple
Make packed lunch for tomorrow
Clean out cupboard under sink which sprung a leak and water and coffee granules all over kitchen floor, cupboard and it's contents  that's one way of cleaning it
Dd to dancing already paid
Some form of exercise later and possibly a walk with a friend for some fresh air too :A0 -

Morning all :coffee: :hello:
Sorry I didn't check in yesterday - too busy enjoying myself
I can't believe I was so stressed out about turning 40. It was brilliant and I had a lovely day.
I'm really interested reading about the mental health stuff. I have GAD - mostly under control with CBT and medication, but things can get out of control if I'm really tired, not looking after myself properly or not getting reassurance/approval from people I care about. It can be exhausting sometimes. I have that voice DNMS (I call it the b1tch voice) and she's much harder on me than I would ever be on anyone else.
Not too many plans for today - still sore finger, and I think I need more sleep than I've had so a morning nap may be in order.
Other than that:
check banking and PAD
keep a spending diary (this is my April target)
get ds to football later
tutoring
crochet
no school work
minimal housework
Have a good day everyone! Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Morning all

Happy Birthday for yesterday CCL
Hope your cat turns up soon HK - they can be daft things sometimes. I once had one who walked for about half a mile along the lane, turned left into a field and I didn't see her again for 2 weeks - and then only because I saw her sat on the edge of the lane as I drove past, stopped and grabbed her! She was delighted to be back, and very hungry, so it wasn't as though she wanted to stay away! Have you asked neighbours to check their outbuildings, as she may just be asleep somewhere?
My list for today:
General tidy up Done
Sort out stuff for a car boot sale tomorrow, get it loaded into the truck this evening ready for an early start. I really need to get rid of some junk! Done, all loaded up, sausage sandwiches made for breakfast, just a flask to do in the morning
HM meals from stores Done
Dog walk later He actually got 3 walks today
Not planning any spends
No spends
Made a cake, a really nice fruit cake recipe, if interested see the farmhouse fruit cake at https://homefarmer.co.uk/farmhouse-fruit-cakes/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=17th%20February&utm_content=17th%20February+CID_ba14a3ea00b55b909fa3be5723e0dd46&utm_source=Goodcall%20email%20marketing%20software&utm_term=Click%20here%20to%20See%20the%20Recipes
It is light, doesn't cost much to make (unlike most fruit cakes) and doesn't take long to cook either
Also made a rice pudding, to use up some just out of date cream, no waste here!
Load of washing dried on line
Watered the seedlings that needed it
Early night tonight, as we will have an early start to get a decent pitch. Hope it is worth the effort!

Hi all,
Hope the wee cat comes home HK, keep us posted!
Hope everyone is doing well.
AFM £15 spent yesterday at McD's and softplay - well worth it though and not as if we do it often.
Frustrated today as realised it's the weekend and all my standing order's haven't transferred over  so don't want to touch money in the current accounts that get our wages as it's earmarked to go out. On the plus side, it has made DH and I wonder if we really need to do a shop (I don't think so - apart from cat & dog food).
Also, last months attempt to eat out the fridge/freezer was a dud, but I'm determined to do it this month, only buying ingredients as needed.
Set up the new barclays account, ready for a new spending category but need to wait to monday to adjust the standing orders.
Also stuck until after the 3rd to change my direct debits on the mobile phones to our santander 123 account.
Just waiting on DH leaving for the footie before I start some housework, then taking mum out for a belated mother's day dinner.
Might give my nails a little home manicure and use up some of the face masks I have giving myself a wee facial too.
Ice box is nearly full so might dedicate another box to it - couldn't resist buying another couple of icecube trays - as opposed to paying £1 for a bag of ice everytime, I think it was a good investment
.
That's it for today.
L xDebt peak approx £30,000  now debt free!!! :j
My parents always said "If you can't afford it cash, you can't afford it!" so true!.... mind you, turns out we can't afford much lol :rotfl:0 -
Hi Frugalistas,
Not tooooo spendy on yesterday's city centre trip. Mr f used our survey vouchers to buy his hair clippers & I bought much needed new sandals.....my previous ones were 10 years old when I finally binned them last year! Got 10% off for agreeing to go on their mailing list. Anyway, today's efforts:
*Finished grocery shopping at local market, butcher & remaining 3 items from Waitrose. Stuck to budget really well this week & had some over so decided to replace mr f's broken stove top coffee pot. Even with this, we came in 12p under budget.
*While in Waitrose......free Guardian, free food magazine, free coffees & since popping a little note of my 'Picks' in my purse, 20% off a box of cat food.
*Free fitness digging & clearing herb bed. Watered seedlings. Mr f planted seed potatoes.
*Bought remaining 3 Easter cards - local indie card shop - only 80p each. V good as card prices can be just outrageous.
*Parked on outskirts of town for free & walked in.
*Entered competition.
*Knit more of b-i-l's birthday socks
*Did Ugov survey as am v near to cash-in.
Have a good day all.

P.S - CCL......GAD was what I had too. It arose from a completely unrelated minor illness & I'd never experienced anything like it! Quite horrible & well worth looking after myself to make sure it never takes such a hold again!
HK- I know that awful missing cat worry. Ours disappeared for most of a day last summer. He NEVER strays far from home as likes to be in earshot of the fridge door. I looked everywhere, garden, shed, walked up & down the road calling him, searched nearby streets, etc. I was just about to walk down to the main road & see if the worse case scenario had happened when my neighbour stuck his head over the wall to say cat had made himself comfy in their kitchen & was growling when they tried to send him home! Sometimes they can be where you least expect. I do hope you see yours soon. It's such a worry.

2) To read 100 books (46/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg

After fees and teas I made £26.30 profit at the table top sale. It could have been a little more but I shared an extra table with the lady next to me as we both had a bit too much stuff (which was a bit of a waste of another £2 as I don't think either of us sold anything off of that one.)
I used the money to stock up on household cleaners/detergents for the month and some bargainous sauce from the pound shop. I then went to Mr T to stock up on cat food and all the stuff which they don't stock the cheapest version of at the local one (pasta, curry sauce, stuffing mix etc etc.) After using my profits and my float I only had to put £20 worth of shopping on my card and now I'm back to my £5 a day budget
Happy birthday for yesterday CCL and hope the kitty turns up HK
