The council have not stopped your IS, they have nothing to do with that. With regard to your HB and CTB, you need to complete a new application. Assuming that you have no other income, you will be eligible for HB and CTB based on your income. You were told this on your other post.
HB/ CTB = LAMake a new claim to IB & IS.

Firstly,
I would contact the LA to tell them about your situation. In particular your housing officer. If you live in a council property that is ( im not sure). If you do, and your HB has been stopped, it really is useful to
a) call your housing officer and tell them about the situation you are in
b) ask if they know of a housing legal service in your area who will support you with your appeal.
I owuld also recommend calling the DWP, again explain why you missed your medicals, and ask them what they recommend for support in appeals. they may know of either a housing legal advice service or a benefits advice service that might be able to help.
I remember you are from Weymouth. http://england.shelter.org.uk/advice/advice-1005.cfm/nearby/0/region/01UU07 here is a selection of housing advice places that should be able to support you. The CAB is listed. So therefore I would call them again and tell them that you have thier details from the Shelter pages. Explicitly tell them you need support with the appeal. they should be able to help -if not to signpost you to somewhere that can.
good luck

I was getting national insurance contributions for IB but they stopped that and i asked them to look at the decision again but their decision stood, and now they have stopped IS, and that means my HB, Council Tax rebate has stopped as well.
Please can someone help me and advise what to do? Can I ask them to look at the decision again? I cant beleive they can be so cold and stoney hearted.
Fred the rules is the rules. You missed the medical appointment without letting the DWP know. Nothing at all to do with them being cold or stony hearted. They have assumed because you did not attend the medical that you no longer wished to claim the IS on medical grounds. Unfortunately this lack of IS has meant a huge knock on effect to your Housing Benefit and Council tax benefit claims.
Perhaps you should go to the job centre and see where you can go from here, as regards a claim. Whether it needs to be a JSA claim or to start a new long term sickness claim. I don't think any one can wave a magic wand and get it all reinstated with no loss of benefit.0 -
HB/ CTB = LA
DWP
Clear enough?
You could of just put that in the first place and I would of understood, as my head is so full of things I dont know if I am coming or going. I made the local council aware of my situation last week and have done all the form filling for them. DWP have been there usual caring understanding selves and my claim is in a backlog of 8 days.
Samaritans were very helpful and understanding, it was nice to chat with someone who feels what I have gone/going through.Have you got a job yet?

Endless people have written this endless times, on both threads.
You have been through a hard time. You will find that applies to endless people on here. The difference between them and you is that they take the advice given the first time.
So if you have contacted the DWP and the LA what is the point of your post?!!Gone ... or have I?0 -

i should have got IS on the 13th sept, checked bank bal, nothing, spoke to dwp who advised me it had been stopped cos of failure to turn up for medical. Asked them why they had not sent letter to advise me, was told its up to me to find out that I was getting no IS, sent letter to them to ask them to reconsider, the nice sympathetic person said no.Have you got a job yet?
