just waiting on the tenancy reference which is hopefully sent today too and then from what my MA said we will just be waiting for kensington to decide 😬
We only know about the employer reference being sent as my partners employer told him and we found out about the valuation as the estate agent who we are hopefully buying a house through told us.
our landlady still hasn't received a tenancy reference request yet from Kensington, no idea why and my MA isn't interested in chasing them even though that seems to be the only thing we are waiting for now.
My MA just keeps telling me to be patient and wait, apparently everytime something is sent to Kensington it goes to 'the bottom of the pile' and could be another week till it's picked up again.
I'm hoping my MA can give me more of an update next week but the waiting is really getting to me.
Try not to get disheartened about it, I know it's hard though. being kept in the dark doesn't help at all. An update every few days would be nice.
Fingers crossed you get a better update next week. If your application is quite straight forward once it's looked at you might not be waiting long. 🤞0 -
Blueem5 said:Our application went in on Friday 18th, Monday 28th they said they’ve instructed for valuation however I spoke to the estate agent and it’s not been booked in yet. Hoping it will be booked in soon, MA has contacted them to see when it will be booked.
The only down side is its a day after when we should exchange on our new build, lets hope the developers give us a couple of weeks grace.0 -

@Blueem5
Yes we rent privately.
It's a bit complicated though 😕 we rent privately, pay direct to the landlady and contact her if any issues but the house we currently rent was originally advertised through an online estate agent and that's who is on our tenancy agreement so when we put in our full mortgage application we put down the online estate agents details for a reference as that's what we're supposed to do. Fast forward to this week and we get a reply from them to say the landlady no longer uses them (she didn't tell us) so we had to update Kensington on Tuesday 29/06 to change the landlord details to our landlady's details.
not sure when Kensington will see this and whether they will ask for a reference or not now. My MA didn't seem to know either.
The employer reference was sent from Kensington yesterday so I'm hoping if they were going to, they would have sent the tenancy one yesterday too but who knows 🤷♀️ it's a bit of a guessing game.0 -

hopefully as the developer will know the valuation is booked then, they will understand the offer will take a little longer than the original agreed exchange date.
surely it's better to wait a little longer for your offer than it is to put it back on the market and wait anyway.

Fingers crossed for you all! Although I've had my offer over a week and my solicitor has factually done naff all with it haha0
-
Also the same as @EmzJenks that I have had my offer over a week and also solicitor hasn't done anything with it yet...still waiting to hear anything...
Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting to hear from Kensington with an offer!0 -
oh really. I guess the waiting around really doesn't end with the offer then 🤣 I hope your solicitors start moving with it all soon and then you can hopefully relax a little.
we haven't heard from Kensington for 2 weeks now, we know they've done the valuation in that time and asked for an employer reference but that's it!
really hoping for an update this week.
