Kensington Mortgage application timescale
Comments
-
we haven't heard anything since Monday 21/06.
not heard about the valuation been booked or anything. I'm assuming as we pay for the valuation I will find out as the money will be taken out of my bank?
I'm so nervous all the time, everytime my phone goes I wonder if it's about the mortgage.
hope we all get some good news today so we can relax abit this weekend.

We paid for the valuation straight away when we applied, are you sure you haven't already paid for it?0 -

no we definitley haven't paid for the valuation yet. they asked on Monday whether they should go ahead and get the valuation booked as they had held off till they got the extra docs they needed. we replied the next day and said yes to go ahead and book it but we haven't heard anything since and no money has been taken.
we got asked for direct debit details at the application stage for the mortgage payments but I've never been asked for my card details.0 -

There is a 5 working day turn around between instructing the survey and them actually doing it. We got asked for card details on application so they took the survey money straight away. So when we instructed there wasn't a delay to then pay for it as well. So weird how the process is always so different for people.0 -

I've just spoken to my MA and he said our valuation was free on the mortgage we have gone for and it should have been instructed by now. he's just said to just sit and wait now and he'll be in touch as soon as he hears anything.

I can see this being a long drawn out process so I'm not expecting an offer soon but if they do need more information I wish they'd just let us know now rather than wait any longer.
you have definitley waited long enough now. It would be nice if they would let you know what they are doing so you know, rather than you having to try and guess.0 -
MA told me today decision made by senior underwriter and offer on its way however I’ve been waiting for the offer for a month now so the senior underwriter part was unexpected . It fab to hear there’s been progression for some of you and got to agree that no news is 🤞 good news0

Bucky88 said:Hi All,
Been reading through this thread for the last few weeks.
We have reserved a new build which is in the perfect location and perfect size. We are both self employed in our own business, my partner has been full time in it for 5 years but i joined last year. So i only have 1 years worth of books. We applied with Halifax after getting a DIP with them which stated i only had 1 years books but was for the full amount we were asking plus 10k. However for some reason they only offered 60k less then we needed, our MA questioned this as to why seeing as they gave us a DIP for 10k more then we were asking. They said it was due to my 1 years books which they had to spit in half to make up 2 years, our MA has never heard anything like this anyway he advised us to try Kensington as they will take 1 year books.
Anyway our application was submitted on Wednesday 16th June, we got asked for some more information/documents only simple things on Monday 21st June which we submitted straight away and instructed to proceed with valuation. We haven't heard anything up to now but hoping to hear something by tomorrow.
We are hoping the application is straight forward as neither of us have any bad credit, defaults or CCJ's just the one years books for myself. The developers have informed us that exchange must take place by the 8th July or they reserve the right to re advertise the property. We are really hoping we get an offer before then, I'm not an anxious person but this is killing me waiting and not knowing. Reading through some of the posts on here it is really hard to gauge when we should be looking at getting an offer as some only waited 2 weeks but others have waited 6 weeks.
Fingers crossed for everyone who is in the same boat.1
