  • I feel like my MA is keeping me in the dark. I sent her some documents finally alongside the wet signature and asked if everything was ok and if there was anything else and she has totally ignored me haha. even if she just says ill be in touch in a few days would make me feel better rather than checking my email every hour ! that was 2 days ago..
I know the feeling! I feel like I've done a lot of chasing to get things moving. My MA is particularly busy due to the stamp duty break but I do wish I would get an email every now and again just saying they were waiting for Kensington, or chasing them for an update. Just so I know they haven't declined me!

Me and my partner have decided that most of the time, no news is good news because it means they haven't said no!

That is literally what I'm doing - no news is good news. Or I'll drive myself mad. 5 weeks and 2 days into the application....

I am exactly the same , I hear nothing unless I ask which is becoming a daily habit . I don’t understand all the terminology as I’ve not been told it but I haven’t given any signatures but loads of info however that was months ago … apparently we are just waiting for the offer to come through 🤷‍♀️
  • I know there is no point in saying not to worry because it makes no difference! I've never felt so stressed in all my life but 'no news is good news' is our mantra at the moment and they've just agreed to book the valuation so it can't be that bad!

You'll all be in your nice homes soon  <3
  • we've had no update since Monday when they asked for a few extra bits of information and documents. they also asked of they could go ahead and book the valuation but again we haven't heard anything since.
we're being chased by the solicitor and seller's Estate agent which isn't making things easier.
we're really hoping we hear something tomorrow or Monday.
I like what you've all said, no news is good news but I can't help but wonder.

    Hi All,

Been reading through this thread for the last few weeks.

We have reserved a new build which is in the perfect location and perfect size. We are both self employed in our own business, my partner has been full time in it for 5 years but i joined last year. So i only have 1 years worth of books. We applied with Halifax after getting a DIP with them which stated i only had 1 years books but was for the full amount we were asking plus 10k. However for some reason they only offered 60k less then we needed, our MA questioned this as to why seeing as they gave us a DIP for 10k more then we were asking. They said it was due to my 1 years books which they had to spit in half to make up 2 years, our MA has never heard anything like this anyway he advised us to try Kensington as they will take 1 year books.

Anyway our application was submitted on Wednesday 16th June, we got asked for some more information/documents only simple things on Monday 21st June which we submitted straight away and instructed to proceed with valuation. We haven't heard anything up to now but hoping to hear something by tomorrow.

We are hoping the application is straight forward as neither of us have any bad credit, defaults or CCJ's just the one years books for myself. The developers have informed us that exchange must take place by the 8th July or they reserve the right to re advertise the property. We are really hoping we get an offer before then, I'm not an anxious person but this is killing me waiting and not knowing. Reading through some of the posts on here it is really hard to gauge when we should be looking at getting an offer as some only waited 2 weeks but others have waited 6 weeks.

Fingers crossed for everyone who is in the same boat.

you applied the same date I did and was asked for extra docs the same date as me aswell.
We have also been told we should have an update tomorrow or Monday.
fingers crossed we both get a good update soon.
Hopefully if yours is pretty straight forward you will have a quick turn around.
I'm a worrier and this is driving me crazy. If we get an offer I can at least relax a bit then.

The waiting is literally driving me nuts now..... Hope someone gets some good news today at some point to help me believe they are actually working over there at Kensington and giving lovely mortgage offers to lovely people who are driving themselves crazy waiting.
  • When did applying for a mortgage become so difficult!!

I'm a contractor, got my DIP back in April, and offer in on house same day..but because of the lending criteria I had to provide additional contract payment proof before I was able to submit a full application.

15/6/21 - My full application went in my broker works with Kensington a lot, so was aware that they'd ask for a lot of documents so I supplied as much as we could think of up front. Bank statements for my personal and bank accounts, deposit proof, landlord references with their emails, my contracting contract, you name it I sent it.

15/6/21 The credit search with Equifax was done the same day.

16/6/21 KM came back with some queries regarding further proof of address for last year, a query on a linked address on my credit file, and querying the default I have and how I was paying this down, they wanted to know if I had a debt management plan, which I don't. I went back with the answers same day.

18/6/21 Valuation was booked for the for 23/6/21

23/6/21 Valuation took place. That morning they also came back with more queries for additional  Proof of current address, questioning my contractor payments and why they were different to the contract (they hadn't realised VAT was added), and they have questions regarding a business bank loan I have. Everything responded to on same day and now I am just waiting to hear back, and if the valuation has come back OK.

It so nerve racking, I am buying by house via modern method of auction and have until the 30th July  to complete or I lose the property, praying I get a positive outcome and on time!!
