We had our valuation carried out on Monday 16th August. Our MA pestered them Weds 18th and we were told the valuation was fine. They asked for one more document to back up our address history and by Monday 23rd (this week) we had our offer, which arrived the day afterwards electronically to the MA and in the post to ourselves.
In my experience it's a little bit slow process until valuation, but once you hit that it means they're happy with the people applying and just need to vet the house. As our timeline above, once that's done it's very quick.1 -
We have a valuation booked now. So pleased we are moving forward. Hopefully we can get an offer after this!0

Thought I would join in on the discussion as I came here looking for help. So glad to find others in the same boat! My purchase is simple as I'm buying from my landlord of 7 years and I just sold a house I wasn't living in so have a deposit. It's been a lengthy process for me as you will see! It feels like they are private investigators
Here is my timeline
23rd July - application submitted to Kensington
28th July- first round of questions returned from underwriters mainly asking for more statements and landlord info
31st July- had to prove deposit as I had moved it to a savings account which required going into branch for copies of transactions. Rental agency returned reference
4th Aug- more questions re tenancy and my ex partner, where he lived was he entitled to deposit from sale etc. Also they queried a direct debit that looked unpaid which wasn't as it was an indemnity error had to clarify this
6th Aug- had to provide full address history for myself and ex partner where we lived and when even though he is nothing to do with old house or new house but was briefly named on my tenancy initially
12th aug - requested more proof of my mortgage payment history and questioned why I received a bank transfer from my ex (child maintenance). Full explanation of circumstances given how to got into debt etc
20th Aug- requested proof that I had an agreed payment holiday during covid times (July 2020)
Requested to go ahead with valuation if this is last of questions
26th aug - valuation booked
28th Aug- valuation carried out
Awaiting next steps now! I've felt like giving up every day I've been so stressed never felt like this in my life. I still can't envision this happening for me but just have to keep my fingers crossed.
