Day Fourteeen Use it or Lose It
Gym membership is one of the things most often paid for and not used. The item found again again in people's garages is the abs trainer frame.
If you use your gym, that is fine. I know that monthly/ yearly subscription giving you unlimited access, sometimes with classes included is very cost effective.
However if you are returning to fitness and aren't training then start by using what you have. Walking is the best exerccise there is, suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. When I used the local authority gym, I would walk the 2 miles there, do an hour in the gym followed by an hours swim and then walk home. I was amazed by the number of people who would drive to the gym, exercise then drive home. Ditto the people who put their dogs in the car, drive them to the local park for a walk and then drive home. I know some of them must be time poor but many were not.
Likewise don't invest in unnecessary equipment, use baked bean cans or bottles of water as weights to begin with (worth keeping an eye on the charity shops when you do want to buy equipment - including exercise bikes/ cross trainers and the old abs thing).
One very wet day in my old house I opted to exercise by putting away each item of washing up away singly, walking once round the kitchen, alternating the direction I moved. Then I found a small plastic toy box and put that on the floor, so did a step up and down on each circuit.
Include walking (and taking the stairs) in your everyday activities.
I know many of you already do theses things, please feel free to add you own tips.

I'm being very MSE out here. I am only buying ski passes when I need them - a couple of people looked at me like I was mad on day 1, but many of them are not skiing today because of sore legs, and I'm feeling smug:D
I'm sitting in the sun eating my packed lunch (from breakfast) and they are spending a fortune on tea, coffee, pastries and chips. I'm determined not to have out on weight by the time I get back. We will see. I'm planning an afternoon in the sun with a book today as Nordic walking is cancelled.
My gym membership gets used almost daily at home, and I got a six session pass here. Just been and am feeling thoroughly exercised. 1 1/2mile uphill hike to go - unless I give in and get the free ski bus:rotfl:Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

Strangely enough I woke up half an hour earlier today. So I went downstairs and had my coffee in peace before everybody else woke up and enjoyed looking out to my back garden in the sun and planning more diy projects. Great start to the day....DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

Calling beat the hoover people into submission.
SkintTeacher hoping you have many more tantrum free evenings.
Apple I am loving your gratitude lists atm, sounds as if you are in a really good place.
Hugs abundant. Silence that negative voice at once. We are all entitled to 'sloth' every now and then - it's called recharging your batteries. Remember 'Nearly everything will work again if unplugged for a while then switched back on, including you.'
swimminginaseaofdebt Over £1000 already this year (nearly 1/3 of you target and not even a 1/4 of the way through the year)

Moll the friends garden sounds lovely and very:money:as does growing your own flowers. Mum went last week (on the way to being driven to a hospital appointment) and was intending to buy 4 sets of flowers for each grave . Neither of us could go at Christmas, it's both my grand-father's anniversaries/ birthdays this month and in advance for Easter. Thankfully she changed her mind when she saw the prices.
indigowarrior You paid for the holiday didn't you? It hasn't added to your debt? It is a 'sunk cost', you can't get the money back or use it for anything else. So did you enjoy it ? maybe it's not something you would do again but the waste would have been in not enjoying it.
Speky adopting an eminently sensible regime to get back on track after the stag do and not moaning - good man.
Bob Take a deep breath. Are you still worried about cash flow? (don't need to tell all). Lots of hugs. You have been very pro-active about changing your working life (going from a high powered job to running the deli, then trying to do it all by yourself and taking it in a new direction to benefit yourself and your family).
They say in business that you should make a decision as soon as you can - if it's the right decision all is well, if it's the wrong decision it will soon come back and slap you in the face. Maybe this latest incarnation of the business isn't working (feel free to tell me to mind my own business) and it's time to make another decision.
It might feel hard as you have invested so much time and energy in it but think of all the extra skills you have acquired. You will ahve many more options open to you when baby Bob starts school (not that I am wishing your life away). It is not the end, but maybe a new stage in the life of family Bob.
Look after yourself, do what works for you and your family, congratulate yourself for everything you have achieved and if it is the right time, let it go.
Chasing Sunshine enjoy your holiday.
Thrifty I don't know much about blind options. Could you treat this year's cleaning as a special workout and investigate your options. Then you could buy/ install in autumn or wirnter (thinking it will be cheaper then). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Grateful for
fine weather for a lunchtime walk
My weight seems to be going down again (although not now a focus, nice to see it continuing!)
Bought a mother's day present last night and spend the £20 instead of the intended 10. Oops...0 -

Well remembered.
Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing. 17 days till payday (not that I'm counting)0 -
I woke up early this morning, feeling physically better than I have done in months.... Got up early, did a couple of rows of my crochet blanket, had breakfast, got to work on time and headache free and have promptly had my worst teaching day for months. It's agony when everything goes wrong like this, and I've had a bad day today. Still I am comforting myself with knowing that it's one bad day in a sea of otherwise good days at the moment. I've just got to ride this one through and get on with it.
Meeting after work and then I can go home and forget today ever existed, go to bed and start afresh tomorrow.
Sorry I'm not keeping up so well this month - I've lost track of my nsd's and the big birthday is looming large and stressing me out. I feel ok - not great, but like I'm managing. Not giving up

Evening everyone...
Mothernerd - thank you! That made me smile. We do that all the time at work with anything that stops working... Switch it on and off - and hey presto! I love that analogy... I will be sure to give myself permission to do so every once in awhile.
Today I am grateful for:- Amazing clients that help to give me a sense of worth
- Great work colleagues
- For an earlier night - and feeling more energised today
Use it or lose it : Gym Membership - I signed up for the year back in January... and last month/this month my attendance hasn't been great. I'll aim to get back into it this week.
Wellbeing : 30 minutes to pray/meditate - Like my gym attendance, my mindfulness practice has gone out the window, even though I know both of these help to keep me well and happy. My motivation to look after myself has just gone kaput - so will get on that one too. A bit of soul searching required.
Hugs all - see you back here tommoz x
