Ebico / SSE partnership has ended!

Energy supplier Robin Hood Energy has been accused of 'taking from the poor to give to the rich' after hiking its prices.
But directors of the company say they are doing exactly the opposite and are helping the most vulnerable, partially blaming Brexit for the rise.
Thousands of people nationwide have switched to the firm - which is owned by Nottingham City Council and says it is not-for-profit - after being attracted by its cheap rates.

I thought Ebico said they had guaranteed their prices until at least December???
Yes, Im sure Ebico will raise their prices at some point .... as I am sure every supplier will do if we wait long enough.
Looking back through this thread, you really do seem to have got a bee in your bonnet about the Ebico/RHE partnership. Is it because they have come up with such cracking prices?0 -
My switch completed today - all very smooth so far
Likewise, we were notified our switch request of both gas & electric completed yesterday, as they promised about 3 weeks ago when we applied.
All gone very smoothly. No issues. :T
Just waiting for the final bills from SSE now - hopefully we'll see them in the next month or two.0 -
They did say they will keep prices frozen until December. But they are trying to move their customer base over from SSE to Robin Hood and it would be a good incentive. However the letter I received after switching to another supplier suggested a £30 a year rise from SSE to Robin hood for gas there was no mention of the electricity.
Those hefty rises and comments sound a warning sign.Everyone knows that councils are under pressure up and down the country with their finances and opening up a not for profit energy company is not without financial risks and likely to fall under scrutiny so why?

Did Ofgem foresee this situation and step in to avoid embarrasing headlines regarding prepayment meters and suppliers with a price cap?
Brexit is being quoted as one of the reasons for this fuel increase. The price of one item rising in the shops by 25p to £1.95 its something that could get very out of control0 -
I have registered my account online with Ebico/RHE and sent my first meter readings yesterday. SSE have sent me two quarterly bills with estimated readings, they know I am leaving them, but I suppose these are generated automatically. I rang their meterline yesterday and gave them the correct readings, the same as the start readings for Ebico. I expect new revised bills to come in the post soon, and they should be the last ones.
As I understand it, Ebico will inform SSE of my opening/closing meter readings, which they will already have. That's how it works, the new provider tells the old provider what the readings are.

I think you are right, but to clarify...
If you have recently received estimated quarterlly bills, and then provided actual meter readings via meterline, SSE will usually create an amended bill (this will be confirmed in the call if that will be the case)
But this will not necessarily be the final bill. The final bill will be based on the agreed readings passed to the old supplier from the new supplier (via the meter reading agency). Any final bill will be claerly marked as such.0 -
I got a new letter from SSE Scottish Hydro saying you can stay with them on zero standing charge ans that they were not aware of the letter Ebico sent and the letter should never have been sent. It was basically illegal.0

It has been 23days since entering a requested starting gas reading for my Ebico Zero/RHE online account and only today has it appeared in my gas meter reading history. The electricity meter reading was accepted and displayed on the same day it was submitted
Ebico/RHE appear to have (over)estimated an additional 8m3 gas usage over those ~3 weeks and it's that, rather than my actual submitted reading that's showing in my account history. Not too concerned about this discrepancy as I'm confident that things will even themselves out once I get my final gas bill from SSE.
My SSE online Gas account has yet to reflect the switch over to Ebico/RHE (it's still listed as an active product with SSE) but I feel more confident now that this will happen soon and a closing bill from SSE issued.
It would have been helpful for Ebico to explain some of these timescales and possible delays in a FAQ or similar on their website or via users' online accounts.
As well as the confusion resulting from the several SSE and Ebico letter spats, I've felt nervous throughout that my details may have got lost in the system during what has been a very chaotic change of partership from SSE to RHE.
When I first switched Electricity and Gas to Ebico last November by filling in their online application form it turned out that they'd "lost" all my submitted details for gas and they had no record of them on their system. This was despite them having printed and sent paper copies of those same application details back to me for approval/cooling off period. It delayed my switch from BG for another a month for (which they gave me a month's credit).Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants (Epictetus)0 -

Nothing should have been lost.
If you correctly input the figures as requested, the supplier has them ... but you may not be able to see them
You will be able to see them once they are all approved.
If the value has changed since you input it, then that is the agreed value that will be used by both old and new supplier. It is not the new supplier (nor the old one) that changes the figure.
The figure has not changed because of the time lapse in getting the value approved - the figure will be the agreed value conistent with the date the switch actually occurs.
If in doubt, give Ebico a call.
Unfortunately they are extremely busy at this time, but they will eventually answer.
When I've called them, waiting times were in the 15-25 minute range ... but at least it's a freefone number. Just put the phone on speakerphone, and go and do something else whilst they get around to answering you0 -
