Ebico / SSE partnership has ended!

I went on the Ebico site today and switched gas from SSE and electric from Greenstar. I've already had the welcome emails. Doesn't seem any issues doing a standard switch.
I'd also say that Ebico trying to do an automatic switch was quite reasonable. I signed up with Ebico and was an Ebico customer. I never considered myself an SSE customer, although I now realise that legally I was. Water under the bridge I guess...

Has anyone out there who has done the Ebico equipower/equigas to Ebico Zero switch received a final bill from SSE yet?
As communication between SSE and Ebico seems to have faultered in this whole process, I was wondering if anyone has successfully completed the switch yet - including final bill produced and balanced settled.
My Ebico Zero supply start date was 27th March so it might still take a while for me yet.0 -
I remember the Ebico tariff as around 5.200 per Kwh gas when everyone paid the same.I dont think theres much difference in the electricity either with Ebico/BG
Ebico Prepay
12.6900p per kWh
25.00p per day
British Gas
13.1300 per Kwh
26p per day standing charge
Not everyone is in debt on prepayment the only reason I have these meters is I am not good at budgeting money and there' no debt on them.SSE (Ebico) refunded £161 on the electricity meter and no one wants to remove this from the prepayment meter, which was a Warm Home Discount and my credit.
At these prices it isnt worth switching to Ebico Prepay at around 3p a day more for my use with British Gas.
Ebico used to be at the top for price (Uswitch) now its down there with the rest of them.

It can take several weeks to settle the account as in many cases its dual fuel.I never had a problem with SSE.A phone call resolves matters quickly.
Some people do need to be careful with this, as Robin Hodd don't have a Warm Home Discount if a customer qualifies.0 -

Yes... well sort of. My switch date to Ebico Zero was March 23rd. I had an email yesterday from SSE saying a final bill for my electricity was available to view online. Sure enough, logging into my SSE online account it had a PDF bill with my closing electricity reading and said the 48 pounds of credit would be paid on, or shortly after, the 17th April and not to close the direct debit yet to ensure the repayment goes smoothly. My SSE online account now lists the electricity component of my dual fuel with them as inactive. However the SSE Equigas account is still listed as active.
I've noticed that my Ebico Zero online account hasn't ever displayed my closing GAS reading, even though it has taken and is displaying the corresponding electricity reading. Thinking this may have been a fault with Ebico's system I phoned them last Friday, concerned that my closing gas meter reading hadn't been accepted. I was told that they had received my final gas reading, (they quoted it back to me) and that the switching of gas suppliers typically takes longer than the electricity switch.
So, I'm hoping over the next few days to receive confirmation that the final gas bill and credit refund from SSE has been produced and any future dealings regarding my energy are solely with Ebico/RHE.Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants (Epictetus)0 -
It does appear the merry men are not on prepayment.Much of the deals show savings if paying by direct debit not everyone can afford to do that.
For quarterly billing Ebico Zero comes out on top for low users at £90 a year saving.Prepayment users have been hit hard and its back to the bad old days.it could be cancelled out by a Warm Home Discount though.0 -
My switch completed today - all very smooth so far0

I received my welcome pack from Ebico today and I'm just waiting for SSE to do a final meter reading.
I initially couldn't get through on the phone to Ebico and kept getting a server error trying the website. I then just signed and sent off the little slip of paper to switch to Robin Hood even though I was instructed to contact them by the 15th March I think, I posted it on the 23rd March and it's been accepted and the switch is going ahead. I didn't post the direct debit form just incase both companies, Ebico and Robin Hood, wanted payments.
As I have confirmed my switch by postal method and not online I don't know how SSE will get my final reading, by post, online or a bloke to check it. I have not heard from SSE since they sent a letter saying my energy prices were increasing.0 -
I was notified by Ebico/RHE that from 23rd March 2017 they would be supplying my Gas and Electricity and the the requested switch (from SSE/Ebico Equipower tariff) was now complete.
However, as I noted in a previous post, my SSE EquiGas online account shows that it is still an "active product" and yesterday I saw that a further direct debit is scheduled for Monday 10th April 2017 - the same day as my first direct debit for Ebico/RHE Gas and Electricity is due.
In my case the DD amounts are minimal (£10 and £12) and I have funds to cover them, but I understood that this double billing shouldn't ever arise when switching suppliers.
My Ebico/RHE online account still isn't displaying the switchover gas meter reading I submitted 18 days ago now and I'm still unclear whether that length of time is typical for gas supply transfer or whether there has been a glitch?
I only switched from separate Big 6 energy suppliers for the first time ever last November to benefit from the zero standing charge offered by Ebico, but the whole process has hardly been an advert for seamlessly switching suppliers. I'm sure it will all come out in the wash and the ongoing savings will have been worth it, but it really shouldn't be this fraught.Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants (Epictetus)0
