I also had this today, which is strange as I registered just last week using the new account numbers I received with the switching confirmation. I suspect this is a generic mailing aimed at those who haven't yet registered online. I plan to ignore it for now.

I think you are right, but to clarify...

If you have recently received estimated quarterlly bills, and then provided actual meter readings via meterline, SSE will usually create an amended bill (this will be confirmed in the call if that will be the case)

But this will not necessarily be the final bill. The final bill will be based on the agreed readings passed to the old supplier from the new supplier (via the meter reading agency). Any final bill will be claerly marked as such.

    :)

Not sure I understand this. I have received amended bills from SSE, based on the meter readings I gave them. I have now paid them. I gave those same readings to Ebico as the start readings for the new account. They should be sending these to SSE.

Are you saying I will have a visit from a meter reading agency, and they won't accept my readings?

    To clarify, as requested ::)

When you submit a meter reading to the new supplier, the new supplier passes these for validation to an independent meter agency.
Only when they are agreed, are they made available to the old supplier.

You will not be visited by the meter reading agency.

The meter reading agency decides whether or not to vaildate the readings.
(In fact, any reading you provide to a supplier at any time I believe goes to the meter reading agency for validation purposes)

Thank you, I have never heard of that system. So, the point of a meter reading agency is to make sure that readings are accurate and that customers are not trying it on by giving incorrect readings. My history will show that my readings are correct, so they should be accepted by both parties. In that case I expect final bills from SSE with a nil balance.

A Youtube video is online regarding doorstep selling from Robin Hood Energy.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zmf6V10BPEk

They appear to be targeting the disengaged vulnerable and fuel poverty in this video at various events. However the price and comments left/ mentioned elsewhere does not reflect this.It wouldn't be surprising if there is breach of some trading regulations somewhere.

Has anyone out there who has done the Ebico equipower/equigas to Ebico Zero switch received a final bill from SSE yet?

As communication between SSE and Ebico seems to have faultered in this whole process, I was wondering if anyone has successfully completed the switch yet - including final bill produced and balanced settled.

My Ebico Zero supply start date was 27th March so it might still take a while for me yet.

    Yes :)
    ... well almost

Our switch completed 5th April, and we now have the final bill from SSE - all correct.
Ebico have also set up our online account which displays the correct start reading (the one we provided them with)

All that is left is for SSE to send us our closing balance - they say the cheque should be with us by the end of this month.

It's because Ebico is associating themselves with a company run by a money hungry council (all councils are lately) that I decided to stay with SSE. Okay, the big six are money hungry too, but at least they don't pretend otherwise. Plus a few things here and there I read about RHE, and there are not many feedbacks about their customer services, as they are new on the market.
I simply wouldn't be able to trust RHE.
Now they want to reintroduce doorstep selling. Are they kidding?
I hope I am wrong, but for now better stay with the devil you know.

I'd agree with you, except for the fact that SSE have announced huge price increases, on top of the fact Ebico/RHE were going to be cheaper than Ebico/SSE anyway, so remaining with SSE means they will be charging about 20% more than Ebico ;)

May I remind you that RHE is a not-for-profit company. SSE is a for-profit company - check for youself what their profits are.

Consult a comparison site to see how Ebico/RHE prices compare - many people find them close to the top.

Not for profit companies seems as bad as the rest. Ebico/RHE will be cheaper until december, after that,...well....price hike?

SSE will allow the Equigas/Equipower customers to keep their accounts, under another name, and to keep the no charges part of the account. However, anything can change anytime on any accounts...at the end, it's always the customer who is screwed.

For prepayment Robin Hood energy site gave me a saving of 71p a year while Uswitch gave £1.70 a year more then British Gas.Robin Hoods prices are the same as the big six on that tarriff. The poorest are lkely to have these meters' in place.

That reaching out message also is concerning.I used to like Ebico/SSE and sorry I switched but Ebico are pushing their customers onto Robin Hood Energy and their not always getting a good deal. Its not worth switching from British Gas as there is no difference in price.

The problem here is what is going to happen in December at Ebico?
