Motoring offence, crossing red x on motorway

I hope the OP takes it to court, loses and it costs him a fortune/long ban if he is already on points.
the way his posts read suggests the roads would be better off without him on them0 -
The OP's story is now changing subtly on pepipoo. At first he said he was leaving the motorway in order to rejoin and jump the queue. Now he is saying he left to find another route and changed his mind and rejoined. Yeah, right...0

They give brilliant advice over there, but will not take kindly to being messed around. I think someone has already called the 'get the popcorn in' line.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ouch.
What a shame, an awareness course might just have been perfect in this case.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes, just noticed that. I would only turn a awareness course down in these circumstances if I was absolutely certain of my innocence and could demonstrate it without doubt. But then, I'm not the gambling type.0 -
I was wrong about the location of the offence. The last 3 figures of a gantry's number represent the distance as on the nearby driver's location signposts.
It happened after I passed the road obstruction at the first gantry after it. Probably from behind a lorry I've changed from lane 2 to lane 1 without noticing the red X.
Does this offence deserve 3 points and fine?
What mitigation can I add?
Can I get the awarness course offer again?0 -

You've royally cocked this up by trying to be clever.0 -

Does it deserve 3 points and a fine? Possibly one to argue on a different thread and after all it was you that gave away the chance of a course that would have avoided the question.
Also you won't get the course offer reinstated.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. So you've turned down an awareness course, something that you might not even have needed to inform your motor insurers of (depending on the company).
You are now looking at 3 points and a fine and costs that will in all likelihood be a hefty sum.
You will also end up with the conviction recorded on your driving record, something that will affect your insurance for up to the next 5 years.
Was it really worth trying to be clever?0
