It would appear the Op does struggle with powers of observation when behind the wheel. Perhaps the quicker they reach 12 points the better for everyone else on the road.

Op you appear to have no valid defence to the alleged offence so you should plead guilty, but most importantly you should learn from the two incidents and examine your approach to driving before a more serious incident occurs.

What if the officer is lying in her statement and my registration number was passed on by a colleague present at the scene who saw me driving in lane 1? What if she arrived moments later after I've passed that gantry?

What if you really were never there, or don't exist and are just a computer programme?

Have you had any run ins with overtaking cyclists lately?

What if . . . you use that defence in court . .

What if . . . you knew you were in the closed lane . .

Oh hang on, from the various details you've given, you obviously did.

The signs do not say "get over" - they say "Get In Lane". It is a Mandatory instruction. If you fail to observe it, you are breaking the law.[/QUOTE]

It is not mandatory. Non-observance is not breaking the law.

If you disagree, point us to the relevant legislation.

    Courts don't need concrete prove.
Their test is beyond reasonable doubt, your defences do nothing to sow that seed of doubt, just make you look uneducated

Except that the latter person is doing nothing wrong.

In London it is a standard manoeuvre to gain some places if you want to take the left exit.

Unfortunately the courts don't work on 'what ifs' only on facts. You appear to have openly admitted the offence and identified yourself on public forums (I know there is a plural for forum but I can't remember it).

Best work towards mitigating this as best you can and getting a guilty plea in and avoiding more expense.

Incidentally, are you already holding points as that might explain why you are going for broke on this one?
