Edited, I'm sure it used to redirect you to your own country. :p
I remember someone on another thread claiming the .co.uk was fake and only the .com was genuine. I know that's not true but I didn't want the same poster ruining this thread.

I did see that but a sponsored link is a very very different thing from their third party sellers. You haven't actually contradicted my statement that neither Amazon nor their third party sellers are actually selling the software.

They're very clearly labelled sponsors, nobody could ever confuse it for being Amazon, and they quite clearly state they are external websites that don't fall under their buying protection and guarantees. There's absolutely no difference here at all between Amazon and Google.

Sponsored link may be a "very very " different thing but the fact is, it appears on the Amazon site so they appear to be condoning the business. They're a third party and they are sellers. Most people aren't going to make the distinction about what type..

I doubt they'll do much about it until the site is taken down. Google certainly haven't.

I suggest everyone sends an email as follows to 1&1.co.uk

  • I wrote to them thinking they were dodgy and got this reply back. (below) I know, they are hardly going to tell me they are a con.

I went on there again to buy Office 2007 and was suspicious about the fact they wanted by DOB and other info for an electronic download in the registration process. I put in a load of rubbish for the address etc and proceded to the pay page with paypal info on it and this is where I got a very very uneasy feeling about this and didn't proceed any further.

I did however follow the advise of those recomending the http://www.theultimatesteal.co.uk/ as my wife is a student and so far no problems, £38.95 and two hours download and am ready to go.

Thank you for your interest in our product,

All software sold on our site are brand new, unregistered and is the full English PC version (and are fully compatible both with Windows XP and Vista), not a trial or demo etc. No hidden charges/taxes, you pay the price listed on the website. All updates are installed automatically.

They are purely for personal use only. Software comes as multi-licensed, meaning you can install the same copy of software on more than one computer.

You will receive a unique valid serial number with each piece of software to successfully install and activate the software on your computer.

Software is delivered online via download upon payment only, hence you will receive the full version via email. This is 100% legal and safe.

Saving you both time and money.

We recommend that you un-install ALL previous versions/trials installed on your computer to ensure a successful installation.

We hope to have answered your question.

    Regards

I also sent them an email asking why the postal address they gave on the site is for a different company who have never heard of them. They never responded. Says it all really.

  • I feel like such a mug, only minutes after paying i smelt a rat and this thread confirmed things.

I've e-mailed them demanding an immediate refund. I get a feeling it isn't going to happen though.

I think one or two people have already on this thread, you just need to threaten them with taking action. It may be worth you contacting the likes of FAST to report them. It would hold more weight for someone who's actually been ripped off by them than someone like me who hasn't actually purchased anything off them.

  • Unfortunately I too have been duped by this company exisoftware. I follishly assumed that because they were using pay-pal they were legit but clearly they are not.
Google were also listing the company.
I also sent numerous e-mails requesting an update re delivery of the product with no repsonse. In my last I threatened the company with legal action.#
Not surprisingly, today the website is unavailable. An identical website calling itself esoftwareworld.com is now making the same promises. Clearlt the company (and I use the term loosely) realise that a number of people are on to them and have changed their name in the hope of duping others.
DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE AS YOU WILL ALSO LOSE YOUR MONEY!
Like rohelendus above I am not finished with this yet and am taking the matter further.
Any advice on how best to proceed?
