Hi All
I'm in the process of buying a new PC and looking to get Microsoft Office on there as cheaply as possible. I searched Amazon and came up with this version which seems pretty reasonable (sorry about link length I don't know how to make them short)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Office-2007-Student-Licence/dp/B000HCZ8EO/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/202-6597340-7360651?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1190715578&sr=8-1
I can't take advantage of the current student offers as I don't have an .ac.uk email address, nor do I work for the NHS so can't get it via Microsoft HUP (I work for the Police)
On the Amazon page there was a sponsored link to the following company who are offering Microsoft Office Professional 2007 FULL VERSION for £31.99
http://www.exisoftware.co.uk/
I know the old saying "if it looks too good to be true it usually is" but thought I would check on here if anyone has any experience of them.
Thanks
Always check that the website has a complete contact address and a proper phone number before bothering to buy anything from the site. You don't want to be buying pirate software. I bought MSOffice professional on 2 occasions from this site and realised that they included the same Registration key. I couldn't contact them at all: The phone number was bogus and the address was not helpful either. I also had issues when my Adobe Acrobat would not register, again because the same key was issued to everyone who bought the software from them. In this case the phrase, "If is too good to be true -- It probably is.." definitely applies. You won't get your money back either.
Use reputable sites, who have a track record. Sometimes it is worth paying a bit extra to get piece of mind, especially for mainstream software such as MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Readers, etc...

Our dear friend 'Kool' has now set up another company called EggSoftware and he's made a post elsewhere on the forum. I've reported it to abuse so hopefully will be deleted soon.
Whilst waiting for it to be deleted....
Princell Software Ltd - the business name/contact address for 'EggSoftware' was only set up at the end of January 2008 (ie, last month).
The owner, Khuram (hasn't his name popped up on this thread already with regard to Exiosoftware) is only in his 20's (bless) and has yet to report any figures to Companies House and is also the sole director of......ExioSoftware.
We also have some conflicting details about where he lives, but I know he lives up North, not B'ham or Kent.
This guy is a spammer, hoking dodgy software - beware!.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -

Since kool's spam thread has been deleted I've started a new one for him. In the warning and rip offs board."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

The MSE user koolkuzz (since deleted) must have been the owner and got upset at my thread disparaging his website. So he reported the thread and it unfortunately got pulled. At least this one is still here."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Someone has just posted eggsoftware on grabbit - have alerted on there that it's a scam. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

I spotted a post this morning by a username koolkuzz on studentroom.co.uk for eggsoftware . Koolkuzz had just found the offer and thought it was amazing. Needless to say the post has been taken down.
Makes me a bit peeved that my thread on the warnings board was taken down because it was reported by the user koolkuzz on here that I was libelling him and that him having the same username was coincidence! Yeh right!"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

They do or used to anyway.Makes me a bit peeved that my thread on the warnings board was taken down because it was reported by the user koolkuzz on here that I was libelling him and that him having the same username was coincidence! Yeh right!
They all ready know I think this.

Seems the same scam is going on with https://www.softdealworld.com right now.
Loads of people on an AV forum reporting they've been sold counterfeit software which has been verified by MS.
These scammers have sponsored links. And while they've been busy scamming through paypal and googlecheckout, google don't have the sense to remove their ads.0
