  • Groan :( I wish I'd seen this thread on Monday morning. I placed an order for the 2003 version, having seen the sponsored Google/Amazon link. The site is back up, & when you look at it & read the delivery info you'd think a courier would be coming with the goods, as the info says the delivery has to be signed for. I didn't realise the goods were a digital delivery. With no phone number on the site, I sent them an e-mail which got no reply. I've therefore raised a dispute with PayPal tonight.

Although I haven't risked as much money as other people, I'm gutted. I was trying to do the right thing, but I simply can't afford the more expensive versions & thought this was a bargain. It would seem now that it was too good to be true. I'm going to escalate it tomorrow - I just hope PayPal can refund my money. :(

just checked again, and cannot believe amazon is still allowing this company to promote itself on the amazon co uk site!
    Get some gorm.
  • I also cannot believe that I have fallen for the same scam (Office 2007) and have escalated my claim with Paypal. The exisoftware site was up and running just fine this morning!

I think that I may also have done the same thing buying Norton Internet Security from this site: http://www.snutuk.co.uk/index.php it's like a mirror image of exisoftware - same registration process, paypal login etc.

Suspiciously similar template but they're not making outrageous claims or offering ridiculously low prices (you should have had a look at the security advice on this board before getting Norton). I think this is a genuine site, they seem to be offering software at real prices and not digital downloads and the address given is genuine and the registered name of the domain is a registered company director at the same address. So everything seems kosha with that site.

  • This morning my brother sent me a link to exisoftware.co.uk knowing that I was looking to buy a copy of Microsoft Office. I ordered it this aftermoon and after talking with my brother was about to order another copy for him but on a whim I decided to do a google search on exisoftware. Well I found this thread and thought ....... (fill in the blank yourself). To cut a long story short after reading the posts in this thread I did the following:

    1. Used the email links in exisoftware to cancel the order and ask them not to deliver and refund money.
    2. Opened a dispute on PayPal.
    3. About 10 minutes later escaleted it to a claim. I copied a link to this discussion.

Within about half an hour I received a message from PayPal saying that I was receiving a refund.

All I can say is thanks to all of you for taking the time to post, especially recommending the escalation on the PayPal claim, and thanks to PayPal who dealt with it so quickly even though it was the middle of the night.:T

All they have to do is pay unfortunately,
  • Update:-

Escalated my claim yesterday, & got an e-mail from Paypal this morning confirming a full refund of £17.99. :j I'll be checking my card every day to make sure the money arrives. :)

I'll add my thanks to the earlier posters too. But for this thread, I'd have been waiting for the order to arrive by post, then trying in vain to get an answer from eXiSoftware, who could have been goodness knows where by then.

As I mentiioned earlier, I emailed Amazon and got a fairly vague "thank you it wil be passed on etc..." type reply. I wish I had maybe kept it but it said very little of substance other than an acknowledgment.
  • oh dear I was stupid too, but it all looked so real, should have realized they did not seem to charge postage or had an registered address, it did certainly teach me a lesson, the bad thing was when you trust Amazon you do get less carefull. The link is still there, I have written to Amazon and paypal no answer at all, I will go back to paypal and make a claim.
Thanks so much to everybody for this discussion and info wished I had seen it earlier !. HBN
  • I bought Office 2003 Professional from them on 30 October, expecting a courier to arrive with a CD - just as everyone else did. On 4 November, I got the e-mail telling me to download. Knowing that to be illegal, I e-mailed back asking for a refund. No reply, of course, and no refund. I contacted PayPal telling them about the problem and asking them to look into what this person is doing. Today, I got a response telling me "We value your business and we want to address all your questions in a timely fashion. If you still have a matter outstanding, please either re-send your email or, if you would prefer to speak with a PayPal representative, contact us at 0870 730 1895." Not impressive performance by PayPal. I've now raised it as a dispute via PayPal and also informed my credit card company. It seems wheezes like this can continue pretty much unfettered - this bloke's been at it for some months, and still is.
