Not being a customer I don't have a legitimate reason to... so I'm wondering has anyone else actually phoned paypal (i.e. the number above) to try and get a real person so they can ask specifically why this guy is still allowed to trade through them? Especially now with so many of you claiming and getting refunds. Paypal obviously must agree it's illegal or it wouldn't be enough reason to justify a refund."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Yes, I tried to phone PayPal. I got through to a machine, obviously in America, that asked me for my area code and number. It told me my number wasn't "recognised", thanked me for calling PayPal, and hung up.0

Useful  . I can't make up my mind whether that is in fact the most efficient customer service known to man or not."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Most companies that have a VLK (Volume Licence Key) have a deal whereby employees can buy office pro (I bought my Office 2003 Pro for about £24 IIRC) This comes as part of the deal for any company that has VLK agreements with Microsoft. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Exisoftware ignored my e-mails, and PayPal ignored my e-mails apart from one strange response a couple of weeks later. Lat night, I raised a Dispute via PayPal, and as soon as that was "registered" I escalated it to a Claim - on the basis I'd contacted Exisoftware weeks earlier but with no response. Within a couple of hours, I got an e-mail back from PayPal to tell me the dispute has been resolved and I will be receiving a refund of the money I paid. The answer is obviously to raise a PayPal dispute every time. Yet it seems the "selling" goes on - despite all the comments/complaints to PayPal, FAST, BSA, and Microsoft. Who said crime doesn't pay?0

I think that PayPal aren't going to tell eXiSoftware not to use them as a payment method because (a) they'll either go elsewhere for a merchant account or use PayPal trading under a different name, & (b) PayPal could be accused of doing insufficient checks before allowing eXiSoftware an account (for instance, why didn't PayPal pick up on them not having a contact 'phone number readily available for customers?). Like others, I e-mailed eXiSoftware & didn't get a reply. Yet PayPal are calling disputes resolved within a couple of hours of a claim being escalated. That makes me think that they're probably not even bothering to wait for a reply from eXiSoftware, & have decided to refund the money themselves if anyone makes a claim, & sort it out with this company afterwards.
PayPal aren't making a negative judgement on the legality of the business, because to do that would mean they'd have to withdraw the PayPal service immediately if they'd thought illegal trading was going on. They're doing the refund on the basis of our complaint/comment that the goods haven't been received or criminal activity is suspected. They'll have ways to get their money back, & it will be for eXiSoftware to prove the allegations aren't true, which is why some people are receiving links to download the software after they've put in their PayPal claim, sometimes even after getting the e-mail saying the refund's being given. Escalating the dispute to a claim is the key - put in a normal dispute & nothing's likely to happen for ages if at all, but escalate it to a claim & PayPal have to make decision, which so far has been to refund pronto.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

I also was stupid and fell for this one but as soon as I escalated my claim with PayPal I got my money back. However beware this outfit is still trading under Esoftwareworld.com and using PayPal.0

Already mentioned on thread. I'd reported that site to Companies House because they were using "Ltd" in their name. Ironically of everyone I've reported these sites to, this was the only one where I got a personal reply and they were taking it seriously, just because of that technicality in the busniess name and nothing to do with the actual illegal software. They told me they were going to officially contact them because they were in breach of the companies act. So it appears Companies House are the only ones that seem to take breaches under their legal juristication seriously. I'm not sure the other sites mentioned have actually done anything wrong as far as Companies House are concerned in terms of business name."She is quite the oddball. Hello everyone. My name is Maxim Reva, I'm CEO of Extreme Internet Software. Our website address is http://www.exisoftware.com. We are in business since 2002 (this can be checked via WhoIs).
Since those guys registered their exisoftware.co.uk domain name we've received A LOT of messages from people who confused our domain name with theirs. They were asking how to download their newly purchased Photoshop or MS Office because the provided link won't work. Others were trying to get their money back or otherwise complaining...
And we've been trying to shut their site down... We filed reports to FAST and other "anti software piracy" organizations. But without any success. exisoftware.co.uk was down a couple of times for 2-3 days but they simply moved to another hoster and that's all.
So PLEASE do not buy anything from exisoftware.co.uk! They sell illegal copies of software! And most likely you will not get even those illegal ones after you paid them.0 -
MaximReva, I had myself come across your site when this thread first started when trying to look up the .co.uk site and it was quite clear to me at least that you are a genuine seller with nothing to do with this software pirate. I appreciate the time you've spent on replying on this thread. I can only assume this is even more frustrating for you as it is affecting your business. I've reported the site again myself this morning to the Microsoft piracy site http://www.microsoft.com/uk/piracy/default.mspx (and the other two similar sites mentioned on this thread, esoftwareworld, softwaretechstore)."She is quite the oddball.
