• As a business user the student/home deals are not applicable and knowing someone in a similar situation who was warned about this, the risk is probably not worth taking. Converting the trial version legitimately with Microsoft is our cheapest option.

I noticed someone posted a reply to my original message regarding Thunderbird. We have used this for a number of years but have in the last few months had numerous problems. Whilst help is available on the Thunderbird forums, we haven't the time to spend on these resolving problems. Hence our move to a new program.
• Just to let everyone know, I escalated a claim immediately with Paypal and they refunded me this morning. It seems that it is worth taking this route. I quoted this forum which Paypal are obvoiusly aware of. so this would seem the way to go.

Good luck!
• I have been trying to get the hosting company 1and1 to do something about this wesbite and also esoftwareworld.com This is the email that I just got from 1and1's legal department (1and1 are the listed name servers for these websites):

Dear Sir,

exisofware.co.uk

Further to your email with regards to the above could you please provide us evidence or possibly by way of screen shots that the individual is undertkaing fraudulent transactions by selling software illegally?

Kind Regards

UK Legal Department

If anyone wants to help pile on the pressure to get these sites shutdown the email address is legal@1and1.co.uk with the subject as: C84222481 Re: exisofware.co.uk
• I have unthinkingly bought this Office 2007 package from exisoftware, which arrived by download link. It loaded no problem, but on having tried to validate it with Microsoft after reading this thread I find it is registered as either, stolen, misused or not valid. Don't touch it, it is a scam, and I have wasted my £31.99.

Send them the link to this thread!
British Ex-pat in British Columbia!
• I did include a link to this thread plus links to threads on a couple of other forums.
I reported the problem to Google and it looks like they have removed the sponsored links for exisoftware and esoftwareworld.
Judging how quickly refunds are being given by Paypal, I would assume that they are well aware of what is going on.
Apparently, the police in Liverpool are aware of the sites as Zanza Healthcare have made a complaint.
• exisoftware.co.uk now appears have been taken offline by the hosting company.
• Paypal are refusing to refund me for my purchase from exisoftware which i never downloaded,,and personally i am unsure they even tried to contact the seller to try. I am not giving up though and i am in the process of bombarding there appeals email address with demands .

Luckily my credit card company are very understanding and i have received a letter from there financial crime unit, so hopefully after 30 days have elapsed they will refund me them selves, but for now i won't be usung paypal in a hurry.
• There website is back up after a few days offline.
They appear to have changed there hosting company to www.verio.com.
I already have sent an email advising them of this companies behaviour.
• I used exisoftware with no issues ...
I admit I was very suspicious of the price but my copy (downloaded) of Office 2007 has been no trouble at all, I have registered it with MS and get all the updates...
I assumed it is the way OEM stuff gets done?
