Hi All
I'm in the process of buying a new PC and looking to get Microsoft Office on there as cheaply as possible. I searched Amazon and came up with this version which seems pretty reasonable (sorry about link length I don't know how to make them short)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Office-2007-Student-Licence/dp/B000HCZ8EO/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/202-6597340-7360651?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1190715578&sr=8-1
I can't take advantage of the current student offers as I don't have an .ac.uk email address, nor do I work for the NHS so can't get it via Microsoft HUP (I work for the Police)
On the Amazon page there was a sponsored link to the following company who are offering Microsoft Office Professional 2007 FULL VERSION for £31.99
http://www.exisoftware.co.uk/
I know the old saying "if it looks too good to be true it usually is" but thought I would check on here if anyone has any experience of them.
Thanks

Usually with these too good to be true deals, they are selling the CD only with no licence key and hence useless to you.
I don't see how they can sell it for £32 when Amazon sell it for £170 without there being some kind of catch, I just can't see it in their listing.
EDIT: Found this link, which matches with my gut feeling: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070915044002AAafgDa- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0 -
Thanks for that, it's pretty much what I had thought. The reviews didn't ring true to me either. Still I always think if you don't ask you'll never know.0

Are you sure there are no Police discounts? A friend of mine used to work for the Police and they could obtain significant discounts on Microsoft products.
Failing that, there are always the free versions of office suites such as http://www.openoffice.org- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0 -
I'm not in work today, I'm going to contact our ISD dept tomorrow to see if they know of anything. I shall keep my fingers crossed.0

Even the company name doesn't make sense. eXiSoftware, Inc.
Inc is an American abbreviation not British, so no incorporated British company would legally have "Inc." after the name.
Edit: Just reported the site to FAST (federation against software theft), we'll see what happens to it."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I wouldn't touch it, personally.
Most companies have genuine offers for software. Contact your IT Dept.
Alternatively stick to the free and very competent offering from OpenOffice.Org0 -
Depending on what you want to use it for OpenOffice is good. Abiword is also worth looking at as a word alternative...0

Hi
:beer:I have bought Microsoft Office Professional from this company, downloaded and using, it all seems very good to me and to good to be true, but I have not had a problem.0 -

Just because you have a working serial key, does not make it legal. Did you have to activate the software? If not then it is definitely illegal because you cannot purchase non-activation serial keys as an individual.
Although if they're legal they should have nothing to worry about after being reported to FACT and Microsoft. We'll have to see what happens. All I can say to anyone that buys it from this site if there's no online activation process (ie the key already activates it etc) then it's pirated."She is quite the oddball. Just thought, there's no mention of it being a digital download. In fact all implications are that it is a physical shipment!!"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
